Do you know this Turtle?
A customer found this dude running along the Salters Road between Dalkeith and Whitecraig. Because his condition is so good I suspect this is either an escaped pet or someone’s released him (there is a river in the near by country park).
Happy to reunite him if someone knows where he came from or has a lovely pond he can live in 🐢
Open until 6pm. Because of this rather annoying wind I’ve closed one of the storm doors - very much open for business though.
Interesting observation made earlier today. For those who have met my dog Arrow, some may recall I’ve said he has next to no loyalty to me, and if I was being beaten to a pulp he would do absolutely nothing to help. I may have had one too many slices of peanut butter on toast this afternoon and may have fallen off my office chair. Seizing the moment I just lay on the floor, pretending to be dead for a good 5 minutes. When he felt I was dead long enough he walked right past me and helped himself to the remaining toast on my desk. Man’s best friend eh.
Feeding the corns and this Hypo Jungle Carpet Python today. Plenty of frozen available for sale. Good number of live bugs in the cabinet too 🐍

Besides being lightning fast and almost escaping twice already, it’s a pretty chill little guy and would love a bio to call home so anyone with an available space is welcome to get in touch 🦎

Strangely adorable European Fire Salamander. This girl has a face only a mother could love - and she is also a mum!
Fire Salamanders are so named because they would seek out places to hide; often in stores of wood; and when the wood was thrown into a fire, they would scurry out to avoid the flames 🔥
