Our TOP TIPS for home bathing and grooming. 🚿🚿🚿
• use a good natural based shampoo. Don't be tempted to use a human product, dogs have a different PH balance to their skin meaning most human products would not be suitable.
• Don't be worried about over bathing. If you are using a high quality shampoo, it will put natural oils back into the coat and skin. Removal of dirt build up will allow the skin to breathe and help remove anything nasty that may be lurking in there.
• Try popping some peanut butter on the side of the bath to help distract your dog if they really hate bath time!
• Keep brushing! Anything with a curly coat will need regular brushing. Poodles, doodles, and cockapoo types are very prone to matting so need regular brushing. Ensure you are reaching all parts of the dogs coat including around the collar and harness area which are likely to matt due to the rubbing. We recommend our slicker brushes and finish with a comb.
• If you need to trim around the eyes. Comb the hair around the eyes first and you can hold your dog using the hair on its chin. Trim any excess hair. Jusy enough so they can see will be fine. There will be good videos online with detail of trimming eyes if you want more help with that.
• Doggy wipes are a great alternative to a full bath, with a quick wipe down of the paws or all over to freshen up.
Hopefully that helps, any questions just DM me and ill help as much as I can. Mark
