Milo came to us today for his second vaccination, He enjoyed playing with head nurse Hannah and nurse Amelia after. He was such a brave boy ⭐️
You may have all seen the #temptationchallenge with children... you offer them a treat but then ask them to wait to eat it until you return. We thought we would have a go with our practice dog Annie. She did very well! We’d love to see our clients and patients have a go too
To complete the 3 years training needed to be a registered veterinary nurse, the students must sit the OSCE exams, these are practical examinations. Myself (Lucy) and Jon are both in our 3rd and final year of veterinary nursing, and took some time today to practice some of the OSCE’s. In this video we have demonstrated how to bandage a dogs leg that has been fractured. Even though our exams have been postponed for now we must keep up with practical training and revision. Hope you enjoy the video!
Here is Lucy our student nurse calling in from sunny Africa!! She’s out there this week in her own time helping the Wilderness foundation.
Here she’s showing the blood machine that has been bought with donations from Medivet clients. They are just running a health check on one of the poacher tracking dogs called Ella!
Poor Simba had a bit of an ordeal recently. He was in a lot of pain and couldn’t raise his tail at all. Fortunately after some pain relief and anti inflammatories from the vet he was able to wag again!
Simba had a syndrome called limber tail, cold tail or broken wag. Luckily its reversible and he’s much more comfortable now and seeing the vet. We hope he continues his recovery well!
Adorable Luna was so friendly, all the vets and nurses got kisses from her when she was in for her spay. Even after her anaesthetic when she was a little sleepy, she still had a happy waggy tail for us!
Doesn't Cocoa have gorgeous fur? She looks like she has wonderful highlights! Cocoa came in a few weeks ago with a sore leg, and after a few xrays we found she had damaged her cruciate ligament. We wish her a speedy recovery after her surgery yesterday!
Some of her xrays can be found in the comments below.
Here's a happy wagging tail to get you going this Monday! Rosa (belonging to nurse Natasha) is always so happy to come to the vets, she can't help but wag her tail even after her sedative!
Rosa was in for some dental xrays to check up on her root canal. You can see the xray in the comments below!
Handsome Merlin has a lot to talk about!! Not only did he have lymphoma as a kitten, but he has also broken his leg!! This was all fixed at Wingrave Veterinary Surgery (Medivet Sutton) and you can see all the xrays in the comments below!
His chatty and relaxed nature has made him a firm favourite at the practice. But no more injuries anytime soon Merlin!!
Struggling to get back into work after the sunny time last week? Well here's another puppy on Monday to get you through the day! Here's adorable Konan, a very friendly (and fluffy) newfoundland puppy. At 9 weeks old he was already 9kg!!
Don't Veg and Annie look sweet together? We'd love to see photos of your pets making friends!
Annie is having a great time! Post any pictures of your pets playing in the snow on the comments below. We’d love to see them!
Woooo! Another Registered Veterinary Nurse! Well done Natasha! 3 years of hard work, exams and assignments has paid off...you got your greens 😁 We are all super proud
