I first met Alfie a few months ago and let’s just say I struggled to brush his coat as he doesn’t like to be brushed especially around his neck. This is a journey for us both as he has now been coming to see me on a five weekly basis and we have slowly made some progress. He is so cute and his owner is really working hard with him at home. I am so pleased with the progress that we have made together Alfie. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the new year 🐶🎄

Our next group starts on the 3rd November. Run by our fantastic Registered Vet Nurse Nicole Crooks BSc(Hons), DipCABT, NCert(AnBeh).
These classes are designed to build your puppies confidence with fun games that help your dog in the outside world. Places are limited so please book your place ASAP by calling 01252 542121. Puppies must be between 8-14 weeks old on the 3rd November to be able to attend.

Dogs eyes can get incredibly yucky. You wouldn’t want that picked out from your face dry would you. It’s easier to clear them in the bath 🛁 not only is it better for them you also don’t want to get all your clean equipment mucky and blunt 🐶

Sniffing does increase blood flow to the brain. This mental stimulation is vitally important for your dog, especially our older dogs who are maybe suffering with dementia and this increased blood flow can really help.

Sniffing is stimulation, tiring, exciting, and essential. So don't go pulling on that lead if they are enjoying the smells, let them soak up the scents and feel the rush of endorphins!

So I thought I’d share this with you all. Meet Maggie she is Beyoncé from the dog world I would say and she has a face that only a mother could love 🤣💕. Maggie is my dog and has been groomed since a puppy, You would think she would just accept that grooming is something that happens on regular basis in her life but no!!. As a groomer I just have to accept that not all dogs like to be groomed. It’s hard when it’s your own dog as I want to make her look so lovely and cute but actually I have to respect her and her limits as to what she will let me do. I suppose sometimes we just need to listen to the dogs and work around them and do what’s best for them then the picture we have created in our heads on what they should look like. Maggie is a little diva but I wouldn’t change her for the world 💕.

My Thursday evening was spent grooming this little lady. Millie is a rescue and is about 7 years old. Unfortunately Millie doesn’t have any teeth so she sucks a lot of her hair around her mouth. The owners like her to be kept short and actually it’s better for her especially around her face and mouth to be kept short. I do love the fact that she permanently has her tongue sticking it 💕🐶

Have been a busy bee this evening grooming Murray 🐶. We have reached a nice length that the owners can manage at home and it suits their lifestyle. He is such a little character. Murray will be celebrating his first birthday in a couple of days so he had a bath, blow dry, facial, playtime oh and course some treats and cuddles 🐶🐾
