Not my normal type of post but please have a read.
Its time to help the other hero's of conflict, our service dogs really only brought into the public eye on rememberance day with the purple poppy. Hero paws - Life AFTER service do everything they can do to try and extend the after service life of these dogs as much as they can but as usual money is now in short supply because of this many are being put to sleep. Please read the Hero Paws Post!
Please remember that these dogs protect our men/women and so much more, who in turn protect us from the conflicts around the world.
For those of you in the corporate world, maybe your company is looking for a charity to sponsor please consider Hero paws - Life AFTER service or just share Hero paws - Life AFTER service post so maybe the target will be reached.
We need your HELP URGENTLY
Never has there been such an urgency to push the boundaries of what we do.
The Hero Paws welfare and retirement retreat isn't moving quickly enough, and that's been ok until we got faced with true numbers of dogs being euthanized and human elements of the forces and services mental health being pushed to the limits. I've been there personally and feel the sickie feeling rising in my belly of past pain
We've always been the shadow to support silently as to not upset the political balance, but facing what the true reality is, we need to be louder. We need to move quicker
We need your help, we have great reach for running the show and there's never a worry or a concern on that side but with the land sat there still waiting for funds with the ability for the dogs to join us at a drop of the hat without the big support we can't reach it
1.3 million is a lot to just pick up, but is it really in the grand scheme? In the long run, it's not. Where we thought we had time to help from the shadows, we don't. Dogs are dying
Decompression. Most dogs with behaviour issues in the working world are created by us, and the environment we place them in so deemed unsuitable for a civilian surrounding. They will suffer aggression deemed related issues, and 9 out of 10 times, it is environmental. Stress, fear, boredom, isolation from sat in kennels up to 22 hours a day.
So, fail the opportunity to be given a chance to be selected for retirement
The team who has to make these decisions hands are tied. For the extreme cases dogs, 1 person for 900 dogs
They don't get to say no give the dog time they have to choose which dog to save and then the rest fall to the bosses and boxes ticked in an environment most dog would fail
We need to act now. Not only to save the dogs but to support the humans under so much pressure, it's only a matter of time
Please help us spread the word. We need support now. Investors who believe in us. Famous folk that want to shout to the roof for us
Grants bursaries trusts are working their magic, but all takes time we no longer have or maybe we never had but a light shone to show how bad things really are
