The Rainbow Bridge Cremation Urn -

The Rainbow Bridge urn is hand crafted with care from start to finish, each urn is made from high-quality Aluminium and truly unique. The colours on the side are hand painted and the top is trimmed with paw prints.

This urn serves as a beautiful and symbolic resting place for your cherished companion and are available in two sizes.

When a pet passes away, typically the first port of call for many people would be to their veterinary practice, but that is because many people don’t realise that there is an alternative option.

We often hear from people after their pets have passed away, say “we wished we’d known about your services before”.

Southern Sky Pet Crematorium is an independent, family run pet crematorium offering a personal and compassionate service.

We want people to know that if they choose Southern Sky, they will know their pets final journey, they will know their pet will be treated with the care and respect that they deserve and they will know that they will receive 100% of their beloved pets ashes back.

THE RIGHT TIME? ASSESSING QUALITY OF LIFE

As pet carers, the decision about whether or not to have a precious animal companion euthanised (or ‘put to sleep’) is one that many of us will have to face. If you have a pet that’s terminally ill or very old, the chances are that the topic of euthanasia will be on your mind.

You may have a lot of questions.

Should you let nature take its course? Is euthanasia preferable to a ‘natural’ death? Will you know when it’s the right time?

The question of timing can be one of the most daunting – we don’t want to let go too soon but what if we leave it too late?

People will often tell you that you’ll know when it’s the ‘right’ time to euthanise a pet but the reality is that it isn’t always obvious, especially if your pet is experiencing a slow decline.

Rainbow Crossings’ founder Dr Monica Diaz is a qualified veterinarian and has been practicing in the UK for over 20 years. She has a special interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery and dedicates much of her spare time to volunteering with pets and wildlife worldwide.

Monica is driven by a deep belief in the human-animal bond and approaches her work with compassion and empathy, especially in preserving that bond during our beloved pets’ final moments.

Why we started our business & what we do.

Southern Sky Pet Crematorium is owned & run by local brothers Scott and Lee Slingsby & their wives Kate and Andrea.

We started our business because, our family are huge animal lovers & over the years we have loved & lost many pets, so we know first hand of the close bond between pet & owner.

From our own past experiences of loosing our beloved pets, we found ourselves wondering, what happens to our pet once they have passed away? If we leave our pet with the vets, where will they be taken to? Will they be treated with care & respect? Are we going to be guaranteed to get our own pets ashes back? so with these types of questions in mind, we decided to create Southern Sky.

From the beginning our aim was to offer a personalised service to people when their pet passes away, so that if they chose to use us, they wouldn’t be left wondering. We wanted people to know that if they choose Southern Sky then they will know where their pet will go on their final journey, they will be reassure that their pet will be treated with the care & respect that they deserved & they will know that they will receive 100% of their beloved pets ashes.

Southern Sky is a purpose built pet crematorium & we believe that we have created a warm, friendly environment where you can spend as much, or as little time and involvement in your pets final journey.

We are very proud of Southern Sky and as we have previously mentioned the reasons why we set up are very close to all of our hearts. To us, our pets are our family and regardless of their size or species, each pet holds their own special place in our heart, so we really do understand that when the time comes to say goodbye, respect and dignity for you and your pet is paramount.

Located rurally, on the outskirts of the village East Stockwith near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, serving the surrounding areas including Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Brigg and Retford.

It’s not something that we like to think about, but preparing for the future loss of your pet could be a sensible decision.

It can be a big decision choosing whether to have your pet cremated and you should not be rushed into making this decision.

Trusting someone else to look after your pet in the way that you would like can be difficult.

It should always be made clear to you that you do not have to use the service provided by your vets.

How much does our individual pet cremation service cost?
The cost of cremation depends on the weight of your pet. Prices range from £85 to £315 and this price includes a scatter tube or bamboo pillow. Other caskets are available, prices start at £30.
All cremations are individual and guarantee 100% of your pets ashes returned to you.

You have a choice where your pet’s final destination will be from ? Even if your pet is euthanised at your local vets, we are still able to collect from your vets or from your home if you prefer, at a time to suit you.
