Milo - hand stripping and deshedding ✨️
He's a mix breed with not known parents (he's a Polish rescue). With the dogs like this there's no specific standards of grooming. Decision what to has to made depending of the coat's type... and this type can change during the dog's life - so the grooming also could vary.

Cerber was a very good boy. Good big boy. Even if he wasn't very happy of his mom's leave... the next post will show what made him relaxed and happy 🥰

Clyde, the Scottish Terrier
Full hand-stripping 🤩

Clyde is the dog who has a special place in my heart. He is my daycare guest since he was very young so he's like a part of a family.

He's Scottish Terrier, wire-haired breed so that means he needs special type of grooming - and not all groomers do this (Why? It's a long process, can cause soars and hurts to the groomers wrist, hand, fingers;)

"Hand stripping is the process of excess dead topcoat, without clipping, leaving room for the new coat to grow and giving a more natural look. It keeps the dog's coat tidy and healthy, leaving it strong and shiny. It is done by plucking/pulling the hairs out in the direction of growth."

Clyde has perfect wire coat. His owners were upset when they couldn't find groomer willing to do proper hand-strippingg... so I was very happy I could so this!
It took a few hours and left a wee "souvenir" on my hand but the effect was absolutely worth it!

Full hand-stripping was done 🤩

Loki is quite nervous boy, so in the new place he had to sniff everything first, just to feel safe. These few minutes let him be calmer for whole visit.
As a dog behaviourist I always pay attention on the dogs' emotions and feelings first and allow them for natural behaviours instead of rush and force.

I've been working for a couple of years as groomer assistant with Diana at Dragon's Nest in Beith and previously Julietta Dog Grooming based in Glasgow.
After finishing my grooming course I've done some groomings in Dragon's Nest by myself.
Then had to quit because of wrist surgery and recovery.

I'm very thankful for Diana for all these years of working together ❤️

My grooming course I've done in January 2023 and passed with distinction. This was wonderful adventure and huge loads of knowledge.
Funny/not funny fact - I've had broken wrist that time for over 6 months and even didn't knew that for another 6 monts. I was too busy to admit I was in pain (don't do this to yourself🙏 ).

During the course there was many different dogs as a models. And 3 of my dogs were allowed to this role during some modules. They loved all day spent with full attention to them :)
I love these memories so decided to put some pictures from the course ❤️
