Hi all,

As you all know I am now closed, if you are looking to surrender an animal, ask for advice or indeed rehome a hamster please contact Mandys Furbabies Fife - Kirkcaldy Hamster Rescue or join the Hamster Rescue Scotland Network who are more than happy to help.
Unfortunately there are a few people claiming to be new rescues recently and they are in fact disingenuous and only looking for money.
PLEASE do your research before looking to give up or adopt any animal from any rescue and always ask for plenty of photos or to visit the premises to see for yourself where your animal will be going or coming from. If you are unsure about anyone, do not give them your animal or support. Feel free to message me for advice too on any 'rescues' we only want what's best for the animals!!
Always happy to support any genuine people who want to get into rescuing animals, but it takes a lot of hard work, preparation and dedication ❤️

Well that's my 300th and 301st adoptions complete and the last hamsters have left Hamsterdam! 😭

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to every single person who has supported my small rescue over the past three years, I never thought it would have been such a crazy and amazing experience! Whether you have 'liked' my posts, donated, adopted, helped with collecting hamsters, offered support or anything in between, I will be forever grateful to every single one of you!
I have met so many amazing people, travelled pretty much all over Scotland and I have learned so much, not only about hamsters, but about myself too. I will be forever grateful for the experience and proud of myself for helping so many wee animals in need.

Now the big question is... can a baby be more hard work than taking in 320+ hamsters? 👶❤️

Two new arrivals here in Hamsterdam tonight.. a huge thank you to Julie and Kirsty from Hamster Rescue Scotland Network
who have been fostering these two for me.
Silver is a beautiful wee male dwarf who can be a bit noisy at times!
Penny is a lovely and friendly Syrian who loves lots of spaccuddleay and seems to enjoy cuddles.

Beautiful Gus joined us here in Hamsterdam yesterday. He is currently settling into a Savic Plaza but he is unfortunately a bar biter so is looking for his forever home in a large tank style enclosure 🐹❤️

Beautiful 8 month old Nala is looking for her forever home. She is super friendly and loves nothing more than a wee cuddle and a treat! She enjoys burrowing in deep bedding and making a mess too.

I have three beautiful robos all here still looking for their forever homes. They are all very similar in nature, none can be handled unfortunately but they love running in their wheels and hiding in deep bedding. They all need calm and loving homes who have lots of patience and are happy to have a wee companion who doesn't need much interaction but still lots of love ❤️

🐹 Oakley is 16 months old and enjoys watching what's going on in the hamster room. I have managed to give him a mealworm or two from my hand a couple of times!

🐹 Aspen is 16 months old and enjoys a long game of hide and seek. He is rarely seen out at sociable hours and prefers to wait until the room is vacant of humans before he plays.

🐹 Frankie is about 5 months old and full of beans. He's constantly on the go and likes to watch from afar. He will wait until his cage is free of human hands before collecting all his treats but he's very cute.

They are all currently living in Alaska cages and seen happy enough. I have some suitable cages available for a donation too if you are considering adopting but don't yet have a cage. So feel free to get in touch if you can offer one of these beautiful wee guys their forever home ❤️

Found this little one in our garden this smorning. Very friend, came straight to me. Got in him my shower just now haha.. our house is on Kennoway road Windygates but we have asked all neighbours with no luck.. so looks like he possibly have travelled either from Kennoway or middle of Windygates.

🐹 RESERVED - Ehren 🐹

Ehren is a beautifully gentle 15 month old Syrian who is looking for his forever home to enjoy his twilight years. He is very tame, enjoys being handled and getting cuddles. He likes to potter in his cage and watch what's going on from his wee ledge. He has been here in rescue a few months now and has missed out on two forever homes, so let's hope it's 3rd time lucky!

I have three absolutely beautiful robos here looking for their forever homes and sadly none have had any interest. Robos are often overlooked in favour of Syrians and Dwarves because people tend to want a hamster they can handle, so they sadly spend a lot of time in rescue.
Robos are so speedy and nervous but they are still great pets. They can become hand time with lots of time and patience and the right loving home. They are fascinating to watch and have the most gorgeous faces 😍

Beautiful wee Roborovski Oakley is looking for hus forever home. He's approximately 14 months old and your typical speedy robo. He's not easy to handle but is definitely interested in humans and what's going on. He loves to run in his wheel and around his cage and sometimes thinks it's a game, I'm sure!

'It is with a heavy heart that I need to rehome my two lovely boar guinea pigs Alro and Oreo. This is due to the fact they no longer get on with my other guinea pigs. I feel it would be best for them to go to a forever home where they are the only two guinea pigs in the household.

Sad day here in Hamsterdam as I have had to say goodbye to two beautiful residents 😢🐹🐹
Pablo had been struggling for a long time now as the ripe old age of 2 years and 8 months. He lived the last year of his life in rescue as we didn't expect him to be with us so long, he loved his cuddles every night and will be sorely missed 💔
Lovely Twiggy has only been here a week but was battling an aggressive tumor which was almost the same size as her tiny body. She had such a playful and cute nature, you will be missed wee one 💔
