Useful information on bridlepath closures in our area

We have been advised that on 9 September 2020 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:

i) Bridleway No. 63 (Thursley) from its junction with Dye House Road (Grid ref. 490629 139751) in a northerly, then easterly, then southerly and then generally easterly direction for 355m.
ii) Bridleway No. 101b (Thursley) from its junction with the A3 (Grid ref.491431 139990) in a northerly direction for 202m to its junction with Bridleway 63a.
iii) Bridleway No. 63a (Thursley) from its junction with Bridleway 101b (Grid ref. 491439 140191) in a northerly direction for 150m to its junction with Bridleway 63
iv) Bridleway No. 63 (Thursley) from its junction with Bridleway 63a (Grid ref. 491483 140338) in a north easterly direction for 64m to its junction with Bridleway 101.
v) Bridleway No. 101 (Thursley) from its junction with Bridleway 63 (Grid ref. 491506 140395) in a south easterly then easterly then south easterly direction for 336m to its junction with the A3.

The permissive bridleway between Bridleway 63 and Bridleway 101b (Thursley) will also be closed.

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to works to rebuild Hammer Pond Dam taking place on and adjacent to the path. It will be in operation from 14 September 2020 until 31 January 2021 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative routes for the closures are:

i) Bridleway No. 63 (Thursley): From the western end of the closure proceed in an easterly direction along Dye House Road to its junction with Old Portsmouth Road. Turn left onto Old Portsmouth Road and proceed in north easterly direction to its junction with the permissive access onto Thursley Common. Proceed in a northerly direction along the permissive bridleway to the eastern end of the closure
ii) Bridleway No. 101b (Thursley): There is no alternative route.
iii) Bridleway No. 63a (Thursley): There is no alternative route.
iv) Bridleway No. 63 (Thursley): From the south western end of the closure proceed along the permissive route provided in a generally north easterly direction to the north eastern end of the closure.
v) Bridleway 101 (Thursley): There is no alternative route.

Here at Blacklands we would like to make everyone aware that the common is closed due to the fire that has been growing since Saturday. So if you would like to hack out please avoid the common to allow fire crews to handle the fire. We have an evacuation plan, but we are confident we will not need it at this time. Stay safe Annie

A large fire broke out at a Surrey beauty spot on Saturday as temperatures soared across the South East.

Hi All, here at Blacklands we are taking every action we can to help protect our staff and liveries from the Covid 19 outbreak.I would also like to share some useful updated information that has been passed on to me,that everyone would find useful. Stay safe, Annie Shepheard (Head Groom)

The government guidance relating to how long to self isolate for can be found via google but is quoted below for convenience:

“If you have been symptomatic, then you may end your self-isolation after 7 days and return to your normal routine if you feel better and no longer have a high temperature. If you still have a high temperature, keep self-isolating until your temperature returns to normal. After 7 days you do not need to self-isolate if you just have a cough as a cough can last for several weeks once the infection has gone. The 7-day period starts from the day when you first became ill.”
