''Poppy had yet another holiday with Alison and Frank. As soon as we left her she made herself at home cuddled up to Frank. She gets very excited when she sees Alison and Franks house as she has made lots of friends. We are very relaxed about leaving her as we know she has a fabulous time while we are away. We call Alison her surrogate mum now and when we picked her up this time although she was very excited to see us she did give Alison a kiss when we left and Poppy isn’t a dog that gives kisses freely!!''

⚠️⚠️⚠️Please check your dogs for grass seeds after (or even during) every walk!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

🐶🐾 when I walked my Mary and Badger this morning (before it got too hot), i took 10+ of these bad boys out of her long coat already, then a couple more when I brushed her and this last one came out when I checked her feet, ears and tail afterwards.

📽🎞Explanation of the clip,
This is what happens to a grass seed when it gets in your dogs coat and skin. Due to the movement of the skin while walking, and the barbed structure of the seed, it works its way into your dog's skin very swiftly.

So please check and double check your dogs for grass seeds, especially if your dog has a long coat.

Another 'meet the carer' post. This week, please meet the camera shy Ian and his lovely wife Shelagh with their sweet Westie Tilly Mai💛 :

Hello from Shelagh and Ian.
We live in Gorleston, both of us are retired and have recently joined PetStay.
We retired to Gorleston from Cambridge 6 years ago and are keen to find hobbies to keep us occupied. We have a very friendly Westie called Tillie Mai who loves meeting everyone human or canine.🐕🐶
We have always owned dogs and they have always brought great joy to our lives. We came across PetStay when we looking for a short stay for Tillie as she couldn’t come on a trip with us. We did not want to put her into kennels as we both felt that she would be much happier in a friendly warm homely environment.
It also led us to believe that we could help other owners and their dogs by supplying them with that attractive environment and at the same time giving us a satisfying hobby along with the chance of meeting some canine characters.

We live in a detached bungalow with an enclosed garden in a quiet avenue and are 5 minutes walk from Gorleston beach and front. 🏖️ 🌊🐚

High time for some 'Meet the carer' posts again. This week we will start with one of our newer carers, the lovely Chrisie. ❤️

Hello. This is me Chrisie and this is Pebbles .

I’m a single lady(I can hear you all bursting into song lol)🎶🎵

I live in a lovely town called Wymondham in Norfolk.

I’ve had dogs all my adult life.

My first dog was a westie called Solo. He lived to the ripe old age of 18. Then along came Badger and Weasel, the Jack Russells. These were rescued from dog’s trust when they were puppies.

I lost Badger to cancer aged 15. Little Weasel made it to 17.

I swore blind I would never put myself through the heartache of losing another dog.

Then BOOM along came this little lady, Pebbles again a rescue.

She certainly kept me sane during covid (well, my friends might not agree)🤪

If I’m lucky enough to look after your precious pooch, I can assure you that they will be treated like part of the family. Thanks for reading my essay.

💥It's that time of year again....🌾 grass seeds everywhere. I have to check Mary🐕 after every walk, do a full brush and check her feet as the little horrors hide in her straw coloured coat. 💥Please see video to see how quickly a grass seed can move through the fabric of a gauze. This is what happens to a grass seed in the dogs coat, except, rather than fall through, it will end up against the skin (or in an ear😵‍💫) and easily pierce the skin and create a lot of problems 🌾 Feel free to share far and wide. ⚠️⚠️⚠️It is that time of year again❗‼ Please check you dogs 🐕 for grass seeds!!!! This is a quick video I took just now with a grass seed I found in Mary's coat this morning. If I hadn't removed it, it would have likely dug its way further in during the day while she's moving, as it does in the gauze. They can be VERY hard to find and removed!!
