Small Animal Vet Job Opportunity🩺
Small Animal Vet Job Opportunity🩺
SA vet required for our locally renowned and long established SA practice located in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds between Louth and Grimsby. We would ideally like to employ a vet with 2 or more years clinical experience, but more important is finding the right person to be part of our closely knit team and the newest member of the Eastfield family and recent graduates would be considered. We have recently been awarded a 3 star accreditation by Best Companies which is their highest standard of workplace engagement, which we are very proud of, as we feel it reflects the fundamental ethos of our practice as well as the qualities of our marvellous team. Tea, coffee and cake are part of the typical day and there are regular staff social events.
The Veterinary team is well settled with Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedic and Cardiology certificate holders and complements each others strengths well, to allow us to treat our patients and clients to excellent clinical standards. Further qualifications and professional advancement are actively encouraged. Our services include advanced orthopaedic procedures, laparoscopic and arthroscopic procedures, video endoscopy, blood gas analysis, acupuncture and we have recently upgraded our ultrasound machine.
We have an amazing nursing team of 12 fully qualified nurses, with a 2:1 nurse vet ratio, as well as an excellent support team of animal care assistants, receptionists and office staff.
We work a 4 day working week, usually a 1:5 weekend rota, and everyone has one full operating day a week. 5 weeks holidays, a generous CPD allowance, as well as the usual professional subscriptions. We are looking ideally for a full time staff member but if there is a need for working flexibility we will always try and accommodate that.

💚VETERINARY NURSE AWARENESS MONTH💚
Becoming a registered veterinary nurse takes time, dedication and passion. That's why we appreciate our nurses each and every day🐾
We aim to offer the best nursing services to our clients and their beloved pets.
The list is endless of the jobs and duties of the nurses here. Here is an A-Z of just some of their responsibilities. 🩺
We hope that you all have a great Pancake Day, but watch out for some of those lovely fillings - whilst we may enjoy them, they can be toxic to our pets.
If you are worried that your pet may have eaten something that it shouldn't please don't hesitate to call.
Christmas Food
Which Christmas foods are a ❌ for your pet? ⏬
🎄Turkey bones can potentially cause blockages and damage to your pet’s digestive tract – be sure to pop the bins off the counter and into a secure bin,
🎄High fat foods such as pigs in blankets can sometimes trigger pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
🎄Onions (as part of the allium family of plants) are toxic to cats and dogs – plenty of onions in stuffing and gravy, so keep your eyes peeled.
🎄Snacking on macademia nuts in the afternoon? Make sure your bowl is out of paws reach.
🎄Alcohol is also toxic, so spills and left-over drinks should be cleaned away and safely disposed of.
If in doubt, the safest option is to feed pet safe treats instead!
Supervise pets around Christmas decorations.
Although Christmas decorations help to set the scene, certain decorations may pose a risk to our pets. For example, stringy decorations such as tinsel and decorative string can cause digestive blockages if eaten and glass baubles may cut paws if smashed.
Christmas trees may resemble an exciting climbing frame to adventurous cats, so consider tethering them!
Keep inquisitive pets safe by supervising them and keeping them away from potential dangers.
In the run up to christmas Christmas plants CAN be very dangerous. 👎📉
Did you know that certain Christmas plants can make your pets unwell if eaten? Keep poinsettia, ivy, holly, lilies and mistletoe out of reach to avoid stomach upsets. Also discourage pets from chewing on the Christmas tree as this too can cause digestive issues and sharp pine needles may cause irritation and damage.
If your pet eats something they shouldn’t, or develops vomiting, diarrhoea or becomes unwell, please contact us for further support.
Meet 💙DANIEL THE SPANIEL💙who was born with no eyes. He was rescued by one of our lovely members of staff Amanda and is living his best life with her! At first he had sore runny eye sockets but after surgery done by our vet Adam he has no problems now and being blind doesn't stop him doing anything. He really is a little superstar🌟🐾
How would you like to work in a practice with wonderful nurses like this! This shows our nurses seeing Eddie off after a very long stay with us.
We are looking for a new or very recently graduated vet to join our fabulous team in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.
We provide an excellent learning environment for those starting out on their veterinary journey with 2 vetGDP advisers, multiple certificate holders and an amazing support team of nurses, ACAs and receptionists.
We pride ourselves on our family atmosphere and outstanding service we offer to our clients.
We are offering £32,000 to £35,000 for the right person working 4 days a week, with some weekend work but no emergency out of hours work. All the usual toys and benefits and lots of cake!

As a caring owner you’ll know that healthy food, enough exercise, loving attention, sleep, access to veterinary care and the occasional treat are all key to ensuring your pet lives a happy life.
But when they reach an older age, there’s ways to make them as comfy and happy as possible.
With the excitement of Christmas morning, its not uncommon for children's gifts to end up strewn about. However, toys with small removable parts and items such as batteries may pose a real risk to your pets if eaten. Take care to supervise pets and remove temptation clearing up and moving gifts from the floor. If items are accidentally eaten please contact your veterinary practice urgently.
