Who remembers this young lad, Chester? When he first came into our care at our Rescue and Sanctuary in Harworth, he could barely walk into the tarp and had been a stray for years. Initially wary of humans, he is now happy and healthier, has been neutered, microchipped, and receives monthly flea and worm treatments. Although still on medication, he is doing amazingly well.
This little guy was rescued from an industrial estate after we received a call asking if we could help and assistance , once we receive that call we went out to trap him and bring him into our rescue here in Harworth. At the time, it was touch-and-go at times . He was unneutered, unloved, and not accustomed to humans. Now, he is happily lounging on the sofa. One day, he will find a forever home, but until then, he will stay with us at the Rescue and Sanctuary in Harworth.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ginger Cat Crafts 🐈 for their incredible support in donating three cat beds for Jess and her kittens, Elena and her kittens, as well as Asha, Princess, and all their kittens. Your generosity is deeply appreciated!
"Our pride and joy, this big lad is Noah, The heart of our rescue. He was rescued in a very poor state, unneutered and unloved, having never known what love was. He spent his life on the streets of an industrial estate, scavenging for food. At first, it was hit or miss, but he has stolen my heart. One day, he will share the love he now holds with someone else, completing their life and family too."
"With boundless love, and the undying affection of Chester, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for standing by us in our noble mission of rescuing and saving animals in dire need of help and compassion. Chester's journey is a testament to the transformative power of love and care.
When he was rescued, Chester, an unneutered male, was in a sorry state, struggling to walk, burdened by the weight of neglect. He knew fear, yet had never experienced the warmth of human touch or the tenderness of affection. But look at him now. Through our unwavering commitment and your generous support, Chester has blossomed into a shining example of resilience and hope.
Your kindness fuels our passion, ignites our spirits, and drives us forward in our mission to bring healing and solace to every creature in need. Together, we're rewriting stories of despair into tales of triumph, one rescue at a time.
Thank you for believing in us, for believing in Chester, and for believing in the power of love to conquer all obstacles. Your support is not just a donation; it's a lifeline for those who have no voice of their own. With your continued support, we can ensure that every animal, like Chester, finds their happily ever after."
In a small colony, a tale unfolds,
Where rescue missions dare to behold.
Amidst the day, beneath the sun's ray,
In Harworth, Furry and Friends lead the way.
A mother cat, pregnant with might,
Her older kittens, by her side so bright.
Two expecting, one with pride to sway,
In Furry and Friends Pet Rescue, they stay.
Newborns nestled, a tender sight,
Their journey under the morning light.
Two days past, we, the rescuers, found,
In sanctuary, love does abound.
A touch, a stroke, a moment shared,
In compassion's embrace, all souls cared.
In Harworth's haven, hope renews,
With Furry and Friends, our love ensues.

Good evening everyone tonight I will be sharing some information with you all
This will help assist people caring for guinea pigs. If your guinea pig is unwell and showing signs of dehydration, it is important to act quickly to rehydrate them. Here's how you can help rehydrate a sick guinea pig
**Offer Water:** Ensure that your guinea pig has access to fresh, clean water at all times. You can provide water in a shallow dish or through a water bottle attached to the cage. If your guinea pig is too weak to drink on its own, you may need to syringe-feed water slowly and gently. Be careful not to force water into their mouth, as this can cause aspiration.
**Provide Electrolytes:** In addition to water, you can offer your guinea pig a commercial electrolyte solution designed for small animals. These solutions help replace lost electrolytes and can be particularly beneficial if your guinea pig is suffering from diarrhea.
**Offer Wet Vegetables:** Offer your guinea pig fresh vegetables with high water content, such as cucumber, zucchini, or bell peppers. These can help supplement their water intake and provide essential nutrients.
**Oral Rehydration Solutions like Dioralyte:** If your guinea pig is severely dehydrated, you can offer them an oral rehydration solution like Dioralyte (without any flavoring or additives). Mix one part Dioralyte with one part water and offer it to your guinea pig in small amounts using a syringe or a dropper.
**Keep Them Comfortable:** Ensure that your guinea pig's environment is comfortable and stress-free. Provide a quiet, warm area for them to rest, away from drafts and loud noises.
**Monitor Their Condition:** Keep a close eye on your guinea pig's condition and behavior. If they show signs of improvement, continue to offer water and electrolytes as needed. If their condition worsens or does not improve, seek veterinary care immediately.
**Formula Feeding for Sick Guinea Pigs:** In the video below, we will show you how to slowly g

"Join us as we enter into the beautiful world of our female Guinea pig herd here at Furry and Friends Pet Rescue and Sanctuary Harworth and meet some of the rescues in our care. Some came into our care for personal reasons or after the loss of their companions, and some were sadly abandoned, and some were mistreated. Every one of them is very special."
This is Magic sons Max and Jake
Magic was rescued from life on the streets while pregnant. Thankfully
she came into rescue just in time to safely give birth under our care.
Once Magic is finished nursing her kittens
she will be spayed, ensuring she never has kittens again and can live a happy, healthy life. The same goes for her sons who will be neutered once he reaches a weight of 2kg. Your support helps us provide essential care and ensure a better future for animals like Magic and Sons. Thank you for making a difference! 🐾
In the wild's shadow, Kitty and Kittens
Born in hisses, a world so thin.
Cold and wet, their fate unclear,
Till Furry and Friends got a call to hear.
Rescue's name echoed, a beacon bright,
Answering pleas on that fateful day,
Swiftly we went, to the cold and the damp,
Saved those kittens and their mummy, our champ.
Gratitude flows for the call so dear,
From the wild to warmth, dispelling fear.
Furry and Friends, the sanctuary's name,
Rescued hearts from the wild's cruel game.
In the embrace of our sanctuary's grace,
Kitty and family find a loving space.
Hissing transforms to purrs so sweet,
In the shelter where love and rescue meet. 🐾💙
