You may recall I shared photos of a client's rescue hens in October. They were in a very sorry state - but look at the difference in just a few months with good food, a free run and lots of love!

It is with enormous sadness that I share with you that our dear foster cat, BenG (or Benjamin George to give him his full title) went to sleep for the last time this week.

BenG had a very ropey start to life and was taken in by Hastings Cat Lovers a number of years ago. For various reasons he could not be adopted and so they sought a foster home which was us. He fitted perfectly into our family and we all absolutely adored him. Sadly after three and a half years in our care he was diagnosed with kidney failure together with some other issues and rapidly declined. We were all with him at the end which was as gentle and loving as anyone could wish for.

We cannot thank Vets for Pets enough for their kindness, respect and love and HCL for giving us the opportunity of loving our dear BenG and supporting him (and us!) throughout but especially at the end. HCL are always looking for foster homes and I cannot recommend it enough. Cats like BenG benefit hugely and the rewards are immense. We are all heart-broken but are blessed to have had BenG in our lives.

A bit of a long-shot but...I am looking after an extremely poorly cat who will only eat this food (Hills Kidney Care only the salmon flavour) and I am trying to get some urgently. Does anyone happen to have some sitting in a cupboard please? I will happily collect and pay for it. Thank you.

As usual we will be working over Christmas and New Year. All of December is usually very busy so we highly recommend booking as far in advance as you can. We operate a slightly reduced service on 24, 25 and 26 December when all visits will be thorough but short and sweet so our family can enjoy Christmas too.

As well as caring for your pets we are also happy to do other little chores that need doing whilst you are away. Like putting out your bins and popping them back in place after collection. 🙂

We mostly care for cats but we also look after other small pets. We loved visiting sweet Gigi (how fabulous is that name??!) and her gerbil chums recently. They were so much fun and made us smile on every visit. 🙂🙂

I have recommended these cat groomers to a number of clients. Some cats get very matted and tangled fur which becomes very uncomfortable for them and consequently they need a little
extra help to sort it. For some cats and owners a visit to a cat groomers can be a total game changer!

As you know it's been vile weather. And yet despite having a lovely home, with numerous warm and cosy spots to snuggle up in on a wet and windy morning, THIS is where I found handsome Edmund when I visited!

The vast majority of the cats I care for are fed pouches. I know many of their owners would like to recycle these but are unable to through the council bi/weekly collections. I am pleased to share with you that the M&S at Ravenside, Bexhill has a collection box for these. It is at the top of the up escalator as you head towards their cafe (which incidentally has one of the best views around as well as some very cheerful service and good coffee!!😉).

We love taking care of all your pets and take great pride in the service we offer. That is why all our reviews are 5☆ and we have a fabulous, long established client list. 😀

We have been asked a couple of times recently by new prospective clients to take care of their pets for a few days whilst a relative or friend covers the rest. I do understand it can be cheaper to do this. However we are professional and insured and your neighbour/uncle/friend isn't so if something goes wrong it can become very awkward. We have tried accommodating such requests in the past and have had situations where the other person hasn't turned up, they have left a huge mess, doors have been left unlocked and even gas hobs left burning! 🙈 It is also very difficult for us to earn a living if we are only booked for a day or two when we have to complete paperwork, do a home visit, collect and return keys etc before we receive any payment.

So we took the decision that if you wish to entrust us with your keys, your home and your pet then we need to be solely responsible from when you leave home until your return.

We do hope you understand. Thank you.

Sweet handsome Eddie watching me. When I first started caring for him a few years ago he was extremely shy and I would rarely see him. It's been slow but gradual progress but now I see him on almost every visit and he will comfortably watch me and allow me to get quite close. He's a super chap with a gentle disposition and I have grown very fond of him over the years. 🙂

I care for the cat of a lovely couple and they have this charming cat calender in their home with a different cat quote for every day of the year. I love today's!

It's been a bit of a busy week so it was a real joy to just pause and watch this beautiful gal simply enjoying the sun and having a post-breakfast stretch and clean. Enjoy! 🙂

As we move towards the warmer weather lots of cats are shedding their winter coats and also throwing up more hairballs! This all-in-one cleaner and brush is absolutely fantastic for tackling pet-generated stains on carpets and furniture. I highly recommend keeping one in your cupboard.

As lots of you know I foster a cat for Hastings Cat Lovers.

Benjamin George could not be adopted out and needed a patient, safe, loving foster home. In return he is provided with food, litter and vet treatment through HCL so I have no financial worries about his care. It really is a win-win situation and can be the ideal solution if you love cats but are perhaps worried about the financial commitment.

HCL are looking for more foster homes and in particular for Eddie (see below).

Do spread the word and get in touch with HCL if you think you might be suitable. It would be wonderful to find this dapper fellow a loving home. ❤️ 🐈‍⬛️

LOOKING FOR A LONG TERM FOSTER HOME
OR ADOPTION

EDDIE
MALE
BLACK
AGE APPROX. 3yrs 5 mths (Feb 2024)
NEUTERED, VACCINATED & MICROCHIPPED.

Eddie has grown into a big, beautiful, bumbling mini black panther!
He is adorable in many ways but cannot live with other cats as he tends to be a bit of a bully to some.
He is playful & affectionate & is happy to spend time on his own.

We are looking for a long term Foster home for Eddie.
He will be classed as a 'Supported Cat' which means HCL will be paying for food, litter, Vet fees, flea & worm treatment.
He is also available for adoption for which the adoption fee is £75.

He would like a home with an enclosed garden & a catflap away from busy roads.
Someone who is home part of the time would be wonderful.
He could possibly live with a cat trained dog but no other cats or children.

Home Visit applies & will be carried out to the same high standard as the Adoption ones are.
Please message this page if you are interested & all the ctiteria fit.

Introducing beautiful Minnie who we looked after for the first time recently whilst her lovely owners had a break. She is a very sweet young cat who was quite chatty and friendly once we were trusted and became friends. Despite being quite petite and having mesmerisingly good looks she is a bit of a hunter - hence the two bells!

Handsome Tibby. He was part of multi cat household that I have cared for many times although sadly I rarely saw him as he was so shy. He is now an only cat and I was delighted to see him on each visit and that he posed so beautifully for me. You would never guess from this photo but he only has three legs. He is very independent and no bother at all to care for and it was really lovely getting to know him a little better. 😊

I am often asked whether I have a cat. I have always had them and am currently fostering this handsome fellow for Hastings Cat Lovers. Benjamin George had a bit of a ropey start and was given up to Hastings Cat Lovers a few years ago. He needed to be kept apart from other cats due to fighting. As it proved quite difficult to find him a new home a foster home was sought. We were lucky to meet HCL's criteria and they have been very supportive throughout the adoption. BenG has been with us for nearly 3 years and has given us an enormous amount of joy. No-one knows his age but we would guess 7-10 years. BenG loves to sleep and also to play with his wiggle. Here he is cuddling it in his sleep. Seeing him so happy, content and relaxed it is difficult to believe he has been through such troubled times. 🐈 ❤️
