Please please share this far and wide. Heatstroke kills, it happens fast and it is easily avoided. Dogs will not die for missing a few walks, but just one in this weather may kill them.

The blunt truth about heatstroke...

You dog is literally cooking from the inside out. I’ve seen them arrive at the clinic, vomit blood/gut lining and pass this out of their bottoms too. They usually die shortly after this.

It’s over 60c on the pavements today, as shown by the picture

Don’t be stupid, don’t risk their life, don’t walk them.

Love your dog and stay at home please.

As a vet I can’t deal with the heartache of unnecessary life lost. It is YOUR duty to take care of these wonderful animals

Medical Detection Dogs

Dogs are going to be seeing lots of masks now, something they may be very concerned about.

Spend a little time helping your dogs get used to them and to view them positively and it will really pay off 😁

Top tips to help your dog get used to you wearing a face mask:

- Ensure not to stare at your dog or lean over them as this can be
intimidating
- Keep sessions short and positive
- Ensure not to progress to the next step unless your dog is comfortable
- Putting the mask to your face straight away may be to much for your dog.
If this is the case, go to move it to your face then reward your dog

Update to all my lovely, patient clients. The good news is that I will re-open for business from Monday 18th May 😁

I have already been in touch with the majority of you - if I have not, please message me as I'm sure you can appreciate that there are a lot of lovely dogs needing haircuts!

This will be in a somewhat reduced capacity owing to the new requirements in terms of disinfection and social distancing, but I am working hard to schedule you all in so please continue the being wonderful and patient people you have been though all of this.

There will be some changes as to how appointments will be run - these will be uploaded soon and I will post as soon as they are. These measures are to ensure we all remain safe and continue to observe social distancing.

In order to help me get the diary back in some semblance of order, I will be booking dogs back in based on order of cancellation, coat requirements and known health issues. I hope that most of you will end up having missed just one appointment, and that we will be back on track soon, but it will take me time to get through everyone, particularly as I am unable to do as many dogs each day as usual.

Please note that I will not be able to take on any new clients during this time until everyone cancelled has been booked back in and groomed. Thank you for your continued patience and I look forward to seeing you all soon!!!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that - following the Prime Minister's announcement - we will be closing for a minimum of 3 weeks as a result of the Corona virus.

This is devastating as a self employed business owner, but it is vital to protect everyone and give us the best chance of beating this awful virus.

I will be in touch with everyone once the restrictions are relaxed, and will book you all back in as soon as I can.

In the meantime, just brush brush brush and comb your dogs. If you need any help or are concerned with coat care, please message me via my this page - I am going to do some videos on coat management soon 😁

* CORONAVIRUS Protocol *

Hi all, hope you are all staying safe & well in these difficult times.

I just wanted to let you know that its very much business as usual and as always I will continue to operate high standards of hygiene in order to minimise risks.

There will be a few changes made to the way I operate, however. I will be observing 'social distancing' so I will ask that you bring the dog to the door on a lead, handovers will be shorter than usual with future appointments made via texts or email afterwards.

Obviously if you feel unwell, develop symptoms, or simply have to go into self- isolation, do notify me as early as possible before your appointment and rest assured, I will of course do the same for you.

I will continue to run within accordance of current health guidelines which will be followed closely and you will be notified if anything changes.

In the meantime, stay safe :-)
