🐾🌟 It's Pet Appreciation Week at Lomond Vets, and we’re excited to shine a spotlight on one of our most heartwarming stories! Meet Rocky, a stunning black bunny who was rescued by one of our amazing clients. 🖤🐰

Rocky has truly hit the jackpot! His new family has gone above and beyond to create a 5-star home just for him. From the comfiest bedding to a playground of toys and all the bunny-proofed space he could ever dream of, Rocky is living his best life in a cosy, well-equipped haven. 🌟🏡

We’re so inspired by the love and dedication our clients show to their furry (and fluffy!) family members. Rocky’s story is a beautiful reminder of the difference a caring heart can make. 💕

🐾 The Importance of Preventative Care 🐾

As pet owners, we all want the best for our beloved companions. One of the most loving things you can do for your pet is to ensure they receive regular preventative care. It’s not just about treating illnesses when they arise; it’s about taking steps to prevent them from happening.

Why Preventative Care?

1. Early Detection of Health Issues: Regular check-ups , routine blood work and other screenings can identify problems early on, when they are most treatable and catch potential health problems before they become serious. Early detection leads to easier, more effective treatment and can save your pet from unnecessary suffering.

2. Vaccinations: Protect your pet from harmful diseases with timely vaccinations.

3. Parasite Control: Fleas, ticks, and worms aren't just nuisances—they can pose significant health risks. Routine treatments and preventatives keep these pests at bay and safeguard your pet’s health.

4. Nutrition and Weight Management: A balanced diet tailored to your pet’s needs can prevent obesity, diabetes, and other nutrition-related issues.

5. Dental Health: Oral health is often overlooked but vital for your pet’s overall well-being. Regular check-ups and cleanings can prevent periodontal disease, which can lead to other health complications.

What Can You Do?

● Schedule Regular Vet Visits: Don't wait for signs of illness. Regular visits to the clinic help monitor your pet's health and keep vaccinations up-to-date.

● Maintain a Healthy Diet: Working to ensure your pets' diet is appropriate for their age, size, and health status.

● Exercise and Mental Stimulation: Just like humans, pets need physical and mental activity to stay healthy and happy.

● Monitor Behavior and Physical Changes: If you notice any changes in your pet’s behaviour, appetite, or appearance, don’t hesitate to consult us.

Preventative care is the key to a long, healthy, and happy life. 🐶🐱🐰

Together, Let’s Keep Our Pets Happy and Healthy! 🐾

Feel free to share this post with other pet owners and spread the word about the importance of preventative care. Let's make sure every pet gets the care they deserve! 🌟

💕Lolli’s Puppies 💕

The team got a very exciting visit on Tuesday from some VIP guests. We have been lucky enough to follow these little ones from when Lolli was first scanned and found to be pregnant, to their c section where we delivered them into the world and now through to their first and second vaccinations. Now fully vaccinated these little cuties are ready to go out into the world but not before all the team got in their daily dose of puppy cuddles! ❤️🐾

🌻Free Weight Checks 🌻

Ensuring you know your pet’s weight is key for monitoring their health. In young animals, knowing their weight ensures you can increase their food intake appropriately and track their growth accurately. In mature animals keeping an eye on their weight can allow us to monitor for unintentional weight loss or gain, and/or check the progress of diets or weight gain plans. Weight checks are entirely free and can be booked by calling our reception team on 01436 676752 ☎️

As the days get warmer and we come into summer it’s important to remember that the heat isn’t always kind to our four legged friends. So we have compiled a list of some of our top tips to help keep your pups safe this season. Remember, dogs that are brachycephalic (flat faced), overweight, very young or very old are all more susceptible to heat stroke even in mild temperatures

We know understanding pet insurance can be difficult. Trying to navigate the different types of cover, the different ways you can claim and making sure you make the most of your cover can be a minefield. So, we asked our team to put together some help guides as to the types of cover, the types of claim and FAQ’s about insurance in general to hopefully make it all a little more straightforward 🤓🖤

The team had an eventful start to the morning today, with little Naafi presenting for an emergency c section after a long night of labour. After an amazing effort from all the team and Naafi herself, a male and female puppy were delivered safely and Mum and both babies are doing well. What a lovely way to finish the week! 🐾🐣💛

🤍 Before ➡️ After 🤍

Meet Gus. When Gus was just 3 months old he was diagnosed with puppy strangles aka juvenile cellulitis, a rare condition that causes swelling of the face and muzzle and pustules on the skin. Thankfully Gus’ owners brought him to us as soon as they noticed symptoms and our vet team were able to act quickly to set up a treatment plan for him. Now 6 weeks later Gus is healed completely and growing into such a handsome boy! 🐾🤍
