WARNING DECAPITATED SNOWMEN......possibly?!!! Byron came upon these today and it was a good opportunity to record his body language. A great example of piloerection, oh get me, ok raised hackles. Usually a sign that the dog is aroused, fearful, startled, stimulated or excited in some way. It is an involuntary reaction, just like the goose bumps we humans get. Do make sure you do watch and listen to what your dog is saying. I made sure that he dealt with this in his own time. I also offered him a food treat, he took it, great feedback to see how freaked out he was. I then encouraged with soft words and let him deal with it. No force. We will meet up with the Blobs again tomorrow and try again.
Brucie boney bonus time!! Very happy dogs. These bones are likely to keep them occupied for an hour. Have fun x
Sunday bath time for the girls.
Nicely!
Byron showing us a good example of "self handicapping" playing with 16 week old River. Bringing his play skills down to her level. Supervising play sessions with pups is so important. Byron still has his ears open listening out for me to move and respond so I can give them breaks if required.

Ronnie the puppys first experience of snow. Henry and Byron loving it.
Oscar and the chickens
We have now progressed Oscar to being "out" with the chocks. Upto now Oscar has just visited them whilst in their run. Great session. I think he is improving their dust bath!
Oscars first time in the woods
Puppy Oscar is staying with us a couple of days a week. Today was the first time out of our secure field and with long line on (just in case) and with my 3 to help him we ventured into the woods. Long lines with a harness and dogs with a good recall are always a good first step with your puppys recall and lots of rewards for coming back. Oscar had most of his breakfast on the move.
Egg Retrieve
Byron in the summer working around alot of distractions progressing his retrieving the egg! What a soft mouth. Glad we worked hard on his drops!! Tough egg too!
Wyevale Xmas Shopping Evening.
Byron and I were invited to the Wyevale garden centre last night to promote local businesses. We were there for 2 hours (nearly as long as my parents visits to garden centres!) so many temptations that we worked around. Hugely proud as he had never been there before and there were a lot of people, new scents, bacon butties, chocolate, xmas toys to name a few. He even managed to not pee on the Xmas trees!! He was very fond of Roxy who sang so beautifully as you can hear. We had a bit of a malfunction with the lead but other than that brilliant. All reward based training.
Back off please
Hugo, Bogey and Byron showing how they have self control with high valued items. All reward based training and started as pups. First time Byron had a knuckle and so excited.
