Reggie doesn’t like the hairdryer so we gave him some ear defenders to soften the noise. Reggie appreciated the gesture but said he would prefer a roll around in a muddy puddle.

We need to talk about fleas!
Gone are the days where flea season would begin and end… they now plague us all year round. We are in the midst of a flea pandemic and in order to beat it we must keep up regular flea treatments on our pets alongside preventative flea bathing and house spraying. We highly recommend using a vet prescribed treatment as the majority of over the counter treatments are no longer effective. This is due to fleas building up resistance to them.
The vets can prescribe either a spot on or a tablet which you will administer at home.
Fleas can carry lungworm and tapeworm eggs so it is equally important to keep worming treatment up to date. This is also best to get from the vet.
Signs of fleas - you may notice your dog itching as they have had a reaction to a bite. You might spot small dark flakes on your dogs skin that looks like dirt. This is called flea dirt and is flea faeces - a mixture of blood meal and flea waste. If your dog has long or dense hair it can be very difficult to spot fleas or their dirt so it is best to run a comb through the coat and see if you can see anything on it.
You can upgrade your bath for £5 and we will use a flea repellant shampoo and spritz.

Beautiful Evie came in today for her first puppy package. She is a ten week old cockapoo and we are preparing her for a lifetime of grooming 🥰
It’s important to get your puppy in for a puppy package at a groomers as soon as possible so that they have plenty of time to get used to the environment and staff. Puppy packages include lots of treats, toys and cuddles along with a bath and dry. If puppy is willing we then trim nails, paw fur, bottom fur and eye fur if needed. At home grooming is also recommended from a young age and can be a lovely bonding experience. This could be bathing, brushing or even just handling sensitive areas like paws and ears.
Evie had a fantastic time today and will be returning in a couple of weeks. She’ll be needing a nap first though 😉🥰
