It just gets better!
Two new classes added... We have now included the ridden and in-hand Rescue Equine Horse and Pony from the Rescue Equine Showing Society! AND both classes are Equifest 2024 qualifiers! These classes promise to be well attended so get your entries in!

As we enter Horse Show Season
1. Horses don’t get broke at home. Be brave and enter!
2. EVERY disappointment at the show is a learning opportunity..... Be humble, be open to change.
3. Everyone gets nervous. Everyone has bad days. Everyone makes mistakes. Literally: EVERYONE!
4. Don’t watch others in the warmup ring and start changing what you have been doing - if you see something cool or you want to step up your game that’s homework for after the show!
5. When we run out of knowledge, we often punish our horses. Seek help instead.
6. Be a competitor! But be a horseman first. There is always someone watching who sees you as a role model.
7. Supporting your fellow competitors and engaging with people will enrich your show life.
8. Know the rules of competition! Make sure your attire and tack is legal. Read the rule book, ask questions and be well prepared.
9. Have FUN, don’t sweat the small stuff!

Just a question, we will be running 2 classes for rescued horses and ponies next year however, if we tried to squeeze them into this year, would you like to see them? If enough interest, we'll see what we can do 😃

We have just found out that we are now a Sunshine Tour 2024 qualifying show! So.... this is another chance for you to get your tickets for The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead from 12th-15th September. Qualifying classes (both Showing and Showjumping) will be added to the schedule and posted shortly!

You don't have to be qualified, but we do need you to have experience. **THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT IS HERE**
We are so excited to announce that Showjumping WILL now be included in this year's schedules and all shows going forward! Prize money, gifts, sashes and trophies will of course be involved.. We will of course be releasing the schedules as soon as they are available.

This is an interesting read. I think there is a worrying trend for shows and venues, full stop! GOHS and other fantastic shows such as those run by LC Events for example, have highlighted rings specifically for in-hand classes. Let's put our focus on this and positively encourage people to bring their young ones out. What would YOUR ideal in-hand class look like?

**Market Research!**
As of yet, we haven't included a Gymkhana in our schedules for next year. However, we are in a very fortunate position to be able to run it with little effort. The question is this: Would you like GOHS to include a Gymkhana in the schedules as a regular feature? There will of course, be certain restrictions applied ie. if you have entered a certain number of classes during the day, the same pony will not be allowed to compete etc, but other than that, not much will change. Please let us know if this is something you would like to see. If we don't get enough interest, we will focus on other popular features 😃.
