I thought I should express our recent life hereโฆ
We were closed yesterday. Last week closed Wednesday too. I canโt even afford my students anymore so I can have a day off (to work more at home and to repair my mental health, not sit and glowโฆ)
Itโs been the worst 2 months IN OVER 20 YEARS.
We thought last year was particularly bad as every news was depressing, from rising interest rates, mortgages, rents, warโฆ.everything.
We cried but kept pushing, most months I worked 20 days in a row affecting my mental and physical health just to keep the shop going. We had to reduce hours from 10-5 every day to 10-3 as afternoons were DEAD and I had to pay my staffโฆ.
We hoped this year, itโll be all more NORMAL. And it looks like itโs all less-unexpected and stable. LOOKS.
Yet people somehow think that aside shops, we secretly run banks and sit on millions so we donโt have to see you.
Surprise! We never struggled more. We need CUSTOMERS to be able to order more toys. We need customers to be able to open at 10 every day.
Iโve just paid due bills. Thatโs it. I had to cancel Tonies order. I had to postpone funsnaps and jokes coming.
Itโll come when we can afford itโฆ..
Please buy local. Or if you donโt care, wave bye bye and see another bar openingโฆ..
