What a busy summer ☀️

We cannot thank you all enough for using the services we provide 🥰. Without you guys Wildling Adventures wouldn't be possible.

We have so much planned for Autumn, including a SEND only Halloween party 🎃

We are already stacked with bookings for animal experiences within school settings. If you know a school that would be interested in booking us feel free to have a look at our website.

We also have some availability for therapeutic sessions within schools and our one to one at home therapy sessions.

Today we had the day off 😊 to celebrate our biggest wildlings GCSE results and possibly the most beautiful wedding we have ever attended.

Tomorrow we have an admin day, answering all emails and messages. 😊

Yesterday we took some time out. Summer holidays are brilliant, but the lack of routine leaves some children really struggling.
Our family is no different, autistic children thrive on routine. No matter how much routine we put in place in the holidays, it just sometimes doesn't work.

We do family days out, they do not last all day, maybe a couple of hours at the most. As places are busy, playdates can be a struggle as it can get over whelming, throw in a heatwave and it's game over.

But, in moments like this I realise we are still creating memories. So whether you watched a movie today, played with lego, sat and cuddled on the sofa, sat in pj's eating their favourite safe food. You created memories and you are doing a bloody brilliant job 💙

At this point in the holidays you might notice your children are unable to regulate themselves.

As much as we try and implement routine we find it not working as we would like it. Causing melt downs, shut downs and them struggling to regulate their feelings.

What you can do to help.

Don't ask any questions, they are already overwhelmed.
Live half a day at a time (if you can). Allow your child to concentrate on the day in smaller portions.
Try a sensory activity.
Cancel any plans you might have that may worsen the situation, and reschedule for another time.

This weekend is our last weekend of SEN sessions.

We will no longer be holding monthly sessions.

We will however be offering SEN sessions within the holidays. A Halloween session is currently been organised, which will include, pumpkin carving, and goody bags. Then onto christmas, with our very own Santa!!

The summer holidays for SEND families can be a double edged sword.

Summer allows our children to recharge their batteries, unmask and do what they enjoy. It is also a time where routine goes abit tit's up and they can become super overwhelmed with the activties we plan as a family... throw in a heatwave hotter than Satan's bu****le and you are ready for a nervous breakdown yourself 🤣.

Don't plan too much, if your kid is happy in with that you are doing right now, stick to that. Here's to surviving the summer, do what you need to to get through. You are doing a fabulous job❤️

Also, the photo of my boy is taken at YSP, took him as its quiet and lots of shade, paid an extortionate amount for ice creams and he complained it was too 'hilly'. Then told me sculptures are weird and why don't they have WiFi....

Studying child psychology for 3 years helped me gain insight into children's mental health. From attachment, trauma and unpicking behaviour.

We support childrens mental health and believe it must take priority for any child to flourish.

This time of year burn out is very real. The end of term and SEN children can really struggle.

If your child is exhibiting these types of behaviour more than usual, burn out could be the issue.

For years I struggled as a SEN parent, struggled with loneliness and a lack of understanding.

When I graduated from uni in 2022 I yearned to do something meaningful. Wildling adventures was created by myself and my husband.
