Don't forget we are at Mary Hare Summer Fayre today from 12 until 3!
Pop along and say hello! We have lots of goodies available to buy and we always love chatting all things animals with you 🥰 Hope to see you there!
The National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire is an animal rescue and rehoming farm. Our centre is home to both field animals and domestic pets.
(62)
Known locally as Trindledown Farm, we are also open to the public with shops and the chance to walk around an active rescue centre. Set in 10 acres on the edge of the Lambourn Downs, Trindledown Farm (NAWT's Berkshire branch) is dedicated exclusively to caring for those animals enjoying the twilight years of their lives. Elderly animals make great companions for people looking to rehome a pet and
can often suit those with the most sedentary of lifestyles. We rehome around 100 birds, cats, dogs and field animals at our Berkshire centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked and assessed before being rehomed. Please be aware that we are continuing to receive extremely high volumes of enquiries about all animals available for rehoming. With limited staffing recourse at our centres, we are only able to contact potential owners once they have been matched to an animal, which means we are not able to contact every person who completes a homing form. Please find our Amazon Wishlist link below:

A while back, our fluffy sheep 🐑 and alpacas 🦙 got a fresh haircut for the sunny season, leaving us with a bunch of leftover alpaca and sheep wool!
If you're interested in using either type of wool, give us a call on 01488 638584 😃

This Sunday (30th June) you can find us at Mary Hare's Summer Fayre! The event starts at 12pm and we will be there with a host of goodies available to buy and some fun activities for children to join in on 😄
❗️ GRASS SEEDS ❗️
With Summer here, now is the time to be on the look out and wary of grass seeds with your dogs. These tiny seeds can easily get stuck in their paws, ears and even eyes! 😱 These seeds can easily lead to infections and discomfort so it's important to be vigilant witch checking your pets! 🐾 Here's what you need to know to help keep your furry friends safe during outdoor play this Summer ☀️
1 - Check regularly
After playtime or walks, inspect your pets. Check their fur, especially between their paws, on/in their ears and their bellies!
2 - Groom Often
Regular grooming can help you with spotting any seeds! 🌾
If you suspect a grass seed injury , don't hesitate to contact your local vets 🏩
Signs to watch out for include:
🐾 Excessive licking of paws
🐾 Limping
🐾 Head shaking or scratching at their ears
🐾 Swollen, red or squinting eyes
We need help from our local lambourn community please .
A “feral “ cat has been dumped on us this morning from the lambourn folly road area ,we do not know if this cat is owned as the person was unwilling to give us any information ,it is not chipped but is clearly terrified having been trapped to bring it in .
If you are missing a cat please give us a call
How time flies! 🪽
Our purr-fect bunch of kittens are zooming through their growing-up phase like little rocket ships! 😻🚀 We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw these pics! They'll all be off to their fur-ever homes shortly and we will be sure to miss their daily dose of mischief!
Thank you to everyone who donated towards their care. Our JustGiving page is still open if anyone would like to donate. We anticipate there will be an influx of kittens this year, similar to last year, so all remaining donations will contribute towards their care 🥰 https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/fromshedtoshelter
A massive thank you to everyone at the Donnington Village Fete and dog show last weekend. With all your support, an amazing £159 was raised for the animals at our centre!!! 😍
Thank you so much for bringing your four-legged loved ones to participate in the Dog Show & for buying items from our stall, we couldn't have done it without you!🥳🐶🏆
⭐ INTRODUCING VINNIE ⭐
Hi there guys! I’m bouncy puppy Vinnie 😆 I’m an 11 month old Beagle x Jack Russell and as you can see I am as handsome as can be! 😎
I’ve come to the centre as sadly I was just too much energy for my last owner- being part Beagle, I'm all about playtime and brain games to keep me entertained! 🐶🧠 As a young pup, I'm just a whirlwind of energy and excitement, eager to explore every nook and cranny! I've been a happy camper living with kids and another dog so I could potentially live with either again- especially if they helped me along with my training! 😊
Do you like long walks? me too!...long runs? even better! 😆 I am such a sweet boy and cannot wait to find my forever family to share all these exciting experiences with! Could my new family be yours? 🤞

⭐ BOBBY, TOMMY, FLORRIE AND BUNNY ⭐
Our sweet little flock are still looking for their forever fields to graze! 🐑🌱
If you are someone you know would like to add these four fabulous characters to your household then please register your interest or share this post 🤗

⭐ INTRODUCING MILLY AND TILLY ⭐
Hi there, we are a pair of 3-year-old cavapoo sisters, Milly and Tilly! We are so glad that we have each other as we are very anxious girlies and get a lot of comfort from having the other around 🥰 Unfortunately, we haven’t had much experience of the world and so everything is very overwhelming at the moment- including walkies! 😰 But we are taking each day one paw at a time, and we can’t wait to find a loving owner who can help us on our journey to being confident, happy doggos! 😄
Everyday we're chowing down on yummy treats and getting used to the friendly faces who pop in to say hello and bit by bit our confidence is growing 😊 Since we're a couple of anxious gals, we're looking for a grown-ups-only pad where we can be the only dynamic duo. Our future owner will need oodles of patience as we navigate through this whirlwind of new experiences. It might take a while, but with plenty of love and training, we can make a perfect pair of companions for your family! 💙
If you think you’ve got the space in your heart and lots of time to dedicate to helping these two sweet anxious sisters, please register your interest here!

This week is and BonBon is here to help shout about this year's main focus 🥬 Healthy diet - Happy bunnies 🥬
Whilst hay and grass makes up 85% of a rabbits diet 🐰, rabbits also need greens/herbs 🌿🥦🥬🥒 incorporated into their daily intake! Some good examples are coriander, parsley and fresh mint.
Rabbits also need some concentrated food, so a handful of good quality pellets are also recommended to help fulfil their diet 😋
Check out Rabbit Awareness Week page for more info and advice on rabbits this week 😄
(P.s. BonBon is still available and on the hunt for this fur-ever home. Could he be the bun for you? 😍 https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9692/ )
Today's an unusual one for the calendar 🗓, but a fun one! 😁 Today is world cat domination day 🌎🐱 and Smudge is doing his best "plotting world domination" look! How do you think he did? 😍
Smudge is still available and looking for his fur-ever home. Since he first arrived at the centre, Smudge has come out of his shell massively and we know he will only continue to grow in confidence with the right home! Could that be with you? https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9686/
⭐ The sunshine bandit on donkey duty ⭐

Donnington Village Fete are hosting a family fun filled day for children and dogs 🐶They are supporting us by running a dog show 🥰 the event starts at 12 and ends 4pm! Pop down and say hello if you're in the area 😄
It's day! 🐶💼
Though we look after lots of wonderful dogs and they too get plenty of time in the office, we also have two dogs, Mr Goose and Redge, that make regular features here at our centre! 😍
It's a hard days work (as you can see 😴) but these two take their roles very seriously as the personal greeters of Reception! 🤗
Do you take your dog to work? Drop us a picture down below of them living their best 😎

⭐️ INTRODUCING MAGGIE ⭐️
Hi there, my name is Maggie! You may have spotted me from the centre’s Shed to Shelter campaign as I found myself fit to burst with my 5 beautiful babies. Luckily, I found a safe shed to have them in just in the nick of time! 🥰 A kind lady found us all shortly after and brought us here. My babies are now looking to fly the nest, and as a young cat myself I am also looking for my forever home to finally be the kitten I haven’t had the chance to be yet! 🐾😻
The staff here couldn’t believe how friendly I was when I came in and how accepting I was to let my babies be handled by new people, so although I was a stray we believe I have been in a home at some point. I am just the most affectionate girl and love everybody! 😍 I am a big foodie which is great because I’ve got some catching up to do after feeding my 5 kittens and I also love to play when I get a free moment (there hasn’t been many of those recently! 😅)
I can’t wait to find my forever home and family and be the centre of attention! 🥰 As I am such a friendly girl I could live with children and potentially another cat as I have met some of them in the cattery and wanted to say hello!
If you’ve got room for a sweet little lady looking for a second chance, then please register your interest! 💙🐾

⭐️ INTRODUCING FRED, DAPHNE, BETTY AND BARNEY ⭐️
Hey there! Over here! Our names are Barney, Betty, Daphne and Fred! Our brother George has already been snapped up by a loving family and we can’t wait to do the same 🤗 We are all around 8 weeks old and are your typical fun loving, goofy kittens! We can be rehomed separately or if you’re looking for more than one furry friend we can go together too! As we are so young we could potentially live with dogs, cats and little hoomans! As long as they were gentle with us as we are still babies ourselves 😊 But here’s a bit more about each of us as we are of course unique in our own little way 😆
Hi! My name is Fred, I am the beautiful little tabby boy. I am quite brave and inquisitive and love to jump on my siblings to get them to play! I have cute spots on my belly and love to climb up high to get the best look out point! 🧐
Hi, my name is Daphne, I am probably the shyest out of the bunch and it has taken me a bit longer to get used to humans being around. All of us will need someone around lots in the beginning to help settle us in but I think I would especially love this to help build my confidence. I am such a sweet little thing and can’t wait to find to find my forever family! 🥰
Hey, I’m Betty! I am a sweet purry girl who loves tummy rubs! I love to snuggle up with my siblings and play with them too. Though I have little legs, I am quick on my feet so watch your step when Betty is about! 😂
Hi there, my name is Barney and I am the little runt of the litter. I am a bit smaller than my brothers and sisters but make up for it in confidence! I love to chase and play with my siblings and clamber about on things which are much higher than you would expect of a little lad like me! 😎

⭐ THANK YOU NATIONWIDE ⭐
A big big thank you is in order for the team from Nationwide who joined us recently for their volunteer day! These guys painted a ton of our fences and cut down the very overgrown grass from our recent flooding, thank you to each and every one of you!
We hope you enjoyed your day with us and the animals 💙🐾
Our wonderful Cookie is cheering on England 🏴 ready for tonight's game!
Cookie is still available and looking for her paw-fect family 🐾 to cheer on too - could she be your number one fan? 🥳🤩 For more information and to apply for Cookie, click here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9696/
⭐️INTRODUCING RHUBARB AND CUSTARD⭐️
Hi there - Rhubarb and Custard here!
We are a dynamic duo who are both individually sweet 🍬 but can also make up a fun combo! Whilst we are both typical bulldogs, with our lack of coordination 🤭 we are both unique in our own way- making us both perfect individually and together! 😋
Due to our sweet natures, we are both happy to be rehomed together or apart. We are not very bonded, but both enjoy other dogs’ company so could easily go off on our own ways or settle into one family together! 😊
Rhubarb here! If you couldn’t tell by my cheeky smile 😁, I’m a bit of monkey 🐵 but I’m very clever and affectionate. I’m very food motivated – pass the hot dogs please! 🌭🤤 And can walk nicely on lead when I am focused (aka for food 🤩!) Sometimes I can get a bit carried away and get a little bit too excited but I’m working on paw-fecting my manners. Treats like chicken 🍗 or hot dogs 🌭 are great motivating rewards for me. Or squeezy cheese 🧀 or biscuits… did I mention I’m food motivated? 🤭
Custard here! I’m a bit of big kid compared to Rhubarb as I love my toys 🤩 and playing tug. Like Rhubarb, I am also very food motivated 🤤 but I’ve been told I need to practice a bit more patience and learn some paws on the floor manners 🐾 I’m a very excitable boy who isn’t fully aware of my size 🙈! So, I may accidentally take you down when in pursuit of a tasty snack 😋
Neither of us have lived with children before and due to our boisterous behaviour, the staff think we might be best suited to a home with older children 😊 Either of us could live with other dogs but cats are a big question mark- we’re not really sure what they are to be honest!
We’re just two loveable bulldogs looking for our forever families – could that be you? 🐶🐶
Rhubarb - https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9822/
Custard - https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9823/
Our sweet girl Cookie still hasn't had any interest 😔 We can't seem to figure out why as Cookie is such a gentle girl and is coming out of her shell every day 😊🍪
She would be best suited to a quieter home and would thrive as the only animal, so if you're looking for a built in best friend then look no further as Cookie could be your perfect companion 🐾💙
https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9696/
⭐️INTRODUCING POPPY AND TWEAK⭐️
Hello there! My name is Tweak, and I am on home direct with my bestie, Poppy 👋 We are Tibetan Spaniels, and both approximately 12 years old, looking for a new home together! 🥰 Some of you eagle-eyed supporters may recognise us as we came to the centre last year and have since been living the most wonderful life 🤩 Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, our owner can no longer give us all the time we deserve so have made the hard decision to help us find a home where they know we will be spoilt rotten!
We are very close and enjoy a good snooze together 😴on our big comfy bed. And despite being a little shy to start with, we both really love spending time with humans and are very friendly with strangers we meet on our walks! 😍
We can still be a little bit shy, but we love being out and about and exploring all over the place! 🥾 I get SO excited when my lead is on and I’m ready to go!! Poppy takes a little more convincing – don’t tell her I told you, but she LOVES ❤️ her walks just as much as I do. We are gradually learning some training - so long as it involves lots of tasty treats… whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks had obviously never heard of chicken! 🍗 It would be SO great if our new humans would continue to work on this with us – and the chicken is definitely a non-negotiable! 😤
We haven’t really liked sharing our space or meeting with other dogs before and really only have eyes for each other 🥰, so we’d prefer to be the only dogs in our new home. We have lived with cats before, so we wouldn’t mind too much living with one of those again. We’ve never lived with any tiny humans but have met them on walks and do rather enjoy a fuss from them, but preferably we would be best suited to a home where the children are a bit older and understanding of giving us our space.
We’re looking for a peaceful retirement home together 🏠, where the humans will be very patient and understanding and allow us to settle at our own pace. We can’t wait to find the right family to shower us with all the love – could that be you? ❤️
If Poppy and Tweak sound like they'd be a good match for you, click here: https://bit.ly/NAWTBerkshireDogs
The handsome Bertie wanted to showcase his gorgeous smile 😁 for everyone this National picnic day! 🧺
Bertie is still on the lookout for his forever home - could he be the pick for you? 💙🥰

Coming soon! 🌞
We are so excited to announce our grand summer auction is coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled for more details to come 🥳
⭐️INTRODUCING RIBBON AND FUDGE⭐️
Hi there! I’m Ribbon and this is my bestie Fudge 🐰🐰 Some of you who have been following our centre for a while, may recognise me as I was originally adopted from Berkshire back in 2021. Since then, I have been absolutely spoilt 😇 and well loved by the most wonderful human, who also introduced me to Fudge. We’re completely inseparable and love each other’s company 🥰
Unfortunately, our wonderful owner passed away recently but we have landed on all four feet at NAWT Berkshire whilst they help us find a new home 🏠
We’re a fairly confident duo with Fudge being the more social of us both. Whilst Fudge is straight up to you and ready for a cuddle, I am a bit more reserved. You have to earn my attention. But once you have it, I am a loyal friend for life 😍
We’re both used to being indoors and outdoors so would like a home that could give us access to both. We’ve not lived with children before and can be a bit skittish around tiny hands but we’re willing to give it a go as long as the tiny humans respect our boundaries 😊
We’re a loveable, unique duo – could we be the ones for you? 💙
For more information on us and to apply, you can find us here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9817/

With the sunshine appearing ☀️ and the water gone. Woody and George are happy to be back in their paddock eating the lush green grass. 🥰🐐 Thank you to all the corporate teams that have visited us recently and helped get their new home cleared and set up for them after the flooding 😀
Cookie has got that Friday feeling! 🍪💃 If you'd like to give this bouncy, beautiful girl a home please register your interest here 😄 https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9696/
Bonbon is loving being out on the grass and in the sunshine! 🌱🌞 This friendly lad is still looking for his forever home! He could be a house bunny but would also love access to a run so that he can continue to enjoy the sunshine 🥰 Please register your interest in Bonbon here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9692/
Our sweet little Twinkle toes hasn't received any interest 😔 She is trying not to take it personally, but she is desperate to find a family all of her own! Twinkle is a lovely, affectionate girl (with a bit of sass too 😎) She would suit a home where she can be the only animal and ideally a quiet environment where she can relax and get all the affection she wants 🥰 If you think you have space in your heart and home for little Twinkle then please register your interest here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9632/
🚫 WARNING, CUTENESS OVERLOAD! 😍 Maggie's kittens are just starting to explore! We are urgently seeking your support to provide them with the necessary care. If you can contribute, please click the link below. Every donation, big or small, greatly aids in covering their care. A couple weeks ago, following the advice from the Donkey Sanctuary, our donkeys 🫏🫏 could, for the first time since being rescued, go out onto the grass. As you can tell from the video, it was a very happy sight to behold! 😄 Thank you to our wonderful team who worked tirelessly to help train Dotty and Daisy to get used to their head collars so we could rotate them onto the grass 🌱 They are now getting regular time on the grass which they are absolutely loving! 😍
⭐️ WOODY AND GEORGE ⭐️ Woody and George, our two lovable goats, are still searching for their perfect forever home! 🐐🌿 With their playful antics and friendly personalities, they are sure to be a great addition 😄 Whether you have a spacious farm or a cosy small holding, these two charming lads are ready to make themselves right at home 🏡 Please help Woody and George find a place where they can roam freely and be cherished by sharing this post to reach as many people as possible 💙 If you would like to register your interest in these handsome boys please go to our website: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9558/
⭐ ADOPTED - BEN ⭐ We are thrilled to share that our gorgeous Ben (now known as Bear) after a long wait, has finally found his forever home! Witnessing him head off with his new family was a very special moment for the team 💙 Even Ben seemed to know he was onto something paw-some! 🐾 We wish him and his new family all the best - and have already gotten an update that he is very much loved and getting all the cuddles he wants! 🤗
⭐ BB ⭐ Our lovely little lady BB hasn't had a single bit of interest 😔 Taking in a senior cat like BB may not be everyone's initial preference, but the joy of providing a loving home to a wise and loyal companion like her is truly one of a kind 💙 BB is an absolute purr machine but is finding cattery life difficult and doesn't like to come out during the day. We think that once she feels safe in a home environment she will come out of her shell more but for now she will happily accept endless head scratches from the sanctuary of her cat tree 🥰 If you are looking for a gentle, affectionate companion then look no further and register your interest in BB here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9645/
Here's another clip of the Baphomet Brotherhood and guests riding in last Sunday! 🏍 Once again a massive thank you to Twirly and the team who organised the event. Here's looking forward to next years run! 🥳
⭐ TWINKLE ⭐ Our beautiful little Twinkle Toes hasn't received a single application 😔 This lovely lady has impressed us all with how she's adjusted to cattery life after leaving her home through no fault of her own. She is becoming braver day by day and as you can see loves a head scratch 🥰 Twinkle is 11 years old and is looking for a home where she can be the only cat and have access to the outside as she still enjoys going on little adventures 🐾 She can potentially live with older children as long as they understand that she may be nervous initially and want fuss on her own terms 😊 This little girl has been through a lot of change and is looking for a home where she can relax again and have all the head scratches she wants! Do you think there is a space in your family for little Twinkle? 💙 If so, please register your interest here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9632/
Twirly's Nawty Old Dogs Run 🏍 Those who have been with us for a while might recall this epic visit last year from Twirly and crew on their motorbike rally, all to help our rescue centre! 🐶🐱🐹🐰🫏🦙🐑🐐 Twirly and the gang are revving up for another visit this Sunday, April 14th, to show love for our furry pals! If you're up for some fun, hop on over to the event page on Facebook titled 'Twirly's NAWTy old dogs run 2024' or reach out to the main man himself, Paul 'Twirly'. Alternatively, if you'd like to come and see the bikes and talk to the bikers, they'll be arriving at the centre early afternoon this Sunday! 🏍️🐾
⭐️ ERNEST AND STANLEY ⭐️ Here at Trindledown Farm, these two adorable buddies, Stanley and Ernest, have been patiently waiting for their new home for 5 months! This Jack Russell duo, aged 9 and 13, are scratching their heads, wondering why their forever home is taking so long to find 😔 They're hoping their future family is out there and see's the potential in taking in two older chaps who just want to settle down 🤗 Please register your interest in Stanley and Ernest here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9330/
⭐ MISSY AND PRINCESS ⭐ Missy and Princess want you to know their 3 favourite things are toys, fuss and snuggling up together 🤗 We're not too sure why these sweet girls haven't had a lot of interest as they are the friendliest little pair! If you pop by the centre to see them you'll probably be greeted by them running up to the door to see you or the sight of them snoozing together in their bed 🥰 But these girls want a forever home where they can enjoy endless fuss and walkies together with their new family 🐶 Could that family be yours? Please register your interest in Missy and Princess here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9484/
⭐️ TOMMY ⭐️ Tommy the terrier is still on the hunt for his forever home! At 9 years old this little lad still has bundles of energy and love to give 😍 As you can see there is nothing Tommy loves more than playing fetch with his tennis ball and once he’s done he’ll be asking to curl up on the sofa with you 🐶❤️ Tommy’s new family will need to help him build his confidence on his walkies as he gets worried around other dogs when he doesn’t know them. However, he could potentially live with another dog as long as introductions went well 😊 If you've got space in your heart and home for little Tommy then please register your interest here: https://www.nawt.org.uk/rehoming/animal/9559/

Set in 10 acres on the edge of the Lambourn Downs, Trindledown Farm (NAWT's Berkshire branch) is dedicated exclusively to caring for those animals enjoying the twilight years of their lives. Our centre is home to both field animals and domestic pets. Elderly animals make great companions for people looking to rehome a pet and can often suit those with the most sedentary of lifestyles. We rehome around 50 birds, cats, dogs and field animals at our Berkshire centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked and assessed before being rehomed.
