Bad breath can be a sign of more serious issues such as those listed below, do get in touch if you have concerns πŸ’œ

β€œHey hooman, how’s my breath?” 😳

Whiffy breath in dogs isn’t normal, it can be caused by number of other conditions:

- Dental disease
- Kidney disease
- Diabetes
- Something stuck in the mouth
- Oral lumps
- Diet

Always contact your vet if you notice a change in your dog’s breath, especially if they seem to be in pain, have stopped eating or seem unwell. Bad breath isn’t normal, even in older dogs. You know your dog best, so always contact your vet if you’re concerned 🐾

Earlier this week, we had a visit from little Misty who was having a spot of trouble with her breathing and wasn’t eating particularly well. It turns out that Misty had a chunk of chicken caught at the top of her throat - she’s clearly not quite got to grips with chewing her food properly yet! The team managed to carefully remove the chuck under sedation and she recovered really well – you can see her eating afterwards from one of the students. Misty’s happily back at home now, likely looking for more trouble no doubt! πŸ˜†πŸ’œ

It is without doubt the hardest part of owning a pet πŸ’”

Saying goodbye to your furry friend is never easy πŸ’”

It’s one of the most heartbreaking times you can experience as a pet owner. And sadly, a lot of people often underestimate the grief that comes with the loss.

It’s not unusual to experience many difficult and confusing emotions. And whilst these feelings may be very unwelcome, and leave you feeling overwhelmed, just know that they are normal and are a testimony to the special bond between you and your beloved pet.

Remember, it’s important to give yourself as much time as you need to grieve.

This , please join us in remembering all the precious pets we've sadly loved and lost 🌈

Handy tips if your dog suffers with car sickness πŸ’œ

Does your pooch suffer with car sickness? πŸ€”

We know this is a common problem for puppies and dogs so here are our top tips to help:

- Restart travel training - stop travelling for a short time and start retraining your dog to give them good experiences in the car.
- Don’t feed them a big meal before you start travelling.
- Keep them cool, roll the windows down or put the aircon, ensuring they’re safely restrained.
- Bring a toy from home to comfort them.
- Provide them with a secure and comfortable space for the car.
- If needed use anti-anxiety or anti-sickness products.

Have you ever wondered why your cat eats grass? πŸˆπŸ’œ
18/08/2024

Have you ever wondered why your cat eats grass? πŸˆπŸ’œ

Why do cats eat grass? 🌱

Well no one is quite sure, but here are some theories:

1. Grass contains folic acid and fibre, nutrients that your cat needs in their diet, which may attract them to eating it.
2. Eating grass can help your cat to pass furballs and pass poo more easily.
3. It could be that your cat just likes the freshness of the grass, it's taste and texture.

Allowing them to eat cat-safe grass might even distract them from nibbling on other plants that might be poisonous for them πŸ’

It’s a natural behaviour for cats, and is usually nothing to be concerned about, so it’s best not to discourage them from doing it!
