I needed ear defenders today!!!!
Lure fitness is an extremely high-energy activity. The drive on these dogs is incredible to watch, thier excited energy is almost overpowering but is a fantastic opportunity to work your dogs and desensitise them to such extreme noise and energy.
Less than a year, and our mate buddy is a different dog!!
Rehabilitation is a long road. Some days are good, some not so good.
You take each day as it comes and always end on a positive when it comes to dogs.
Thank you all for being at class today. The rain was a little heavy, but omg, what a nice break from the heat.
The star of lure fitness go's to the incredibly funny Meg 😂🤣🤣 didn't want to run but couldn't resist a swim in the dog water bowl 😂😂🤣😂😂😂🤣
Dip stick loves a see saw!!!
Teaching any dog to use any equipment has to be fun!!! Sash has never been on a see saw, but within 20mins had enough confidence to use it without us holding it still :)
The team got together today for a relaxing time after such a huge clinic yesterday in Swanley.
Our own dogs work fantastic together. Here's Frank learning how to find his owner when out of sight, all 4 dogs done absolutely smashing and all loved every minute of the game.
Dip stick still has energy to burn (mentally) so here he is leaning "right down", it's a movement he already dose so I added a "key" word and rewarded with his favourite toy as he is NOT food motivated.
P.s. excuse my voice 😂😂
Here's the high drive collie working again with a young lad, notice the train in the background and he pays no attention to it, 3yrs ago this would have caused a very violent reaction out of the dog.
Just over 3yrs ago this twat was handed over to me, he is a working collie and this is him on the first day out with me.
I honestly thought I'd taken on too much, as he was a prolific car chaser, redirected to anyone within his space, and had absolutely no idea about the world!
3 years on, and as some of you know, he's a different dog. Hard work pays off, we've had good days and bad, he'll never be a perfect dog, but he's perfect to me.
No dogs are perfect. All have quirks, and that's what makes them special to us.
Sasha is having a bun out
What a fantastic day we had at Swanley.
These are just a few of the dogs and owners who worked in 1 class today, all dogs went home tired but happy.
All owners have improved so much.
Was out in ramsgate yesterday with this big boy. He's a very friendly dog, he gets very excited about his walks, seeing people and dogs, as stated he's a big boy!! So lead manners as a must when walking and greeting. Slowing down the process of going for a walk, removing the over excitement was all that was needed to help him into a calm state before going on a walk around his village. Such a happy go lucky dog, just a big cuddle bunny, but others only see a huge dog and avoid.
Perfect recall takes time and patience!!!!
Little toff loves to show off her recall.
Being able to recall your dog with loads of distractions is difficult, but to us, it's vital!! As it may save your dogs life one day.
All recall work today!!! And here is buddy, who used to be in a muzzle!! He recall is getting so much better, keep it up Chris
2 dogs just enjoying the nice weather, watch when they do their own 3 second into to each other, and see how quickly they read each other, thus is when most owners panic and can cause a dog to worry. Here these 2 just want to play.
Now this is an awesome recall!!!
Owners sends him away, he gets distracted, mum calls once, gets his eye contact, says "come" and bang he's on his way!!!! Love doing recall work :)
When we're not training you, we're training ourselves!
We never stop learning or training.
