Well yes, I make custom made halters for horses, ponies, mules and donkeys but this is the first time I have been asked to make halters for model horses 🙃. First of all it was out with the tape measure to take their measurements. I normally work in inches but these were so tiny I worked in centimetres. Also the normal halter rope was too thick so I had to make them from paracord. The halters on the models are to teach children how to correctly put on and tie a halter on a pony. Needless to say they were very fiddly to make and took me three times as long as a normal rope halter to do. 🥹
These were done for a friend. I won`t be taking orders for model horse halters sorry. 🥴

This is an excellent venue that I've not trained at for years, but have previously taken my own horse to as it's brilliant for realistic TREC training out on grass.
There will be a series of 90 minute group sessions featuring a range of mobile TREC obstacles alongside the bridges, ditches and undulating terrain in the Adventure Neighground field.

Now available on my website is the Mark Taylor Signature 4 Knot Rope Halter. Mark helps those owners who have problems loading their horses into horseboxes or trailers, so by the end of the session the owner is leading them in and out quietly and calmly. His page is Taylors Problem Loaders and here you can see the amazing results he achieves. Having sourced this new firmer rope for Mark, which he is delighted with, we have given the halter his name. When his clients ask where they can purchase the same halter he can just point them to my website and the name. This saves any previous confusion as to what type of 4 knot halter they need to order. The halter is available in either white/red fleck or white/black fleck. A solid black may be available in a couple of weeks. 🙂

New on my website are these Safewhips. Suitable for hacking out, leading horses on roads and carriage driving, they are 75.5cm long with a fingergrip handle and lightweight enough for even children to use. They come in Hi Viz yellow, orange or pink with Pass Wide on one side and Slow Down on the other. Highly visible to all road users and a definite safety asset if riding around bends in roads.

Well it is quite some time since I wrote anything on here so apologies to everyone who follows this page. Over the past year, as everyone knows, prices have shot up for everything, including all my raw materials. I absorbed the first round of price rises but unfortunately there have been further increases. This has resulted in me having to increase prices all round, although I have managed to keep the increase in price of the carrot sticks to £1. The good news is that I am having a sale of various rope products. These are all new but some of them are made with materials I no longer stock, like the burgundy rope, brass bull snaps, pink rope and yellow/orange rope. Some of the items are already listed on my website with big savings and more are being added. A ride out with my 27 year old mare Milly, who puts her total trust in me when we come across narrow metal bridges, with quite a long drop to the sides, like this. It is so narrow I have to cross my stirrups over her neck so they don`t scrape the sides. I think my boy Toby, with his big bum, would probably get wedged in there. 🤣🤣

A short session with my boy Toby this morning, before it got too warm, in his new 4 knot melange blue/silver halter. These are available on my website in various colours. A run through his stand and not move his feet until asked, which he finds easy as he loves to chill out and not work 😂. Then we did flexion exercises, turns on the forehand, backing, relaxing his head down and sending forward. A good mornings work then he was fly sprayed and put back in his field. 🐎

New rope just arrived 😍 This is a firmer rope and will be used for my four knot halters. Like my other halter rope it is 100% polyester braid on braid and 6mm in diameter. It comes in four different melange colours. We have black/silver, red/silver, green/silver and blue silver. The extra two knots on the halter and firmer rope give a really clear signal to the horse and also instant release when the horse complies. As the rope keeps it`s shape better the halter is also easier to put on.
These will be available on my website shortly, hopefully by tomorrow (Friday), with photos of a halter made up in this rope.

I now have available on my website `easy open` stainless steel bull snaps for your training lines, along with the original solid brass bull snaps, brass safety swivel snaps and brass trigger clips. These snaps are available with the loop end training lines so that you can attach and detach them yourselves, or are available spliced permanently into the training line. The trigger on the stainless steel bull snap extends beyond the clip making the clip easy to open.

Available on my website soon is a stiff rope 4 knot halter made from braided polyester. I sold these a few years ago and because I have been asked about them have decided to re-introduce them. All sizes will be available including made to your own measurements. The stiffer rope 4 knot halter is used by Clinton Anderson in his downunder horsemanship training. It offers a precise action and gives instant relief of pressure when the horse complies.

Now available on my website is a kit for anyone doing the Clinton Anderson method of natural horsemanship training. Consisting of a handy stick and string, a 4 knot halter in a slightly stiffer rope, a 14ft training line in a 14mm diameter rope (so slightly thicker) with removable solid brass bull snap
For anyone not familiar with Clinton Anderson there is a free app you can download to your mobile called downunder horsemanship.

Unfortunately there has been a major internet outage in this area which is going to take 24 hours to fix. Not only that, it has caused my router to die and it will be 3 to 5 days before the one they send out tomorrow arrives. They send them with Royal Mail 1st class so I am hoping 3 days at the most. I did offer to pay for next day delivery but the person I spoke to said they could not do that. So this is just to say that if you order there will be a delay in getting your order posted, but hopefully not too long a delay.
