Hope you all had a magical Christmas! It was a Very strange one this year, let’s hope this year will be better eh?!!

Dapper Dogz will be back open 9am tomorrow morning. All enquiries will be replied to throughout the day but you can catch me by calling on 07921071332 between the hours of 9-4pm.
Please be patient with my replies, please be reassured I will get back to you ASAP.

Please also be carful travelling/walking- there’s a lot of black ice about 🥶

Hope you’re all ok?

Unfortunately, I’ve just had the dreaded call... kennel cough is doing it’s rounds again!! 😭😭. Case found in Middleton. (Massive thank you to my lovely customer who rang to warn me and rearrange her appointment ❤️)

Can I ask please, if your dog is showing any signs of been unwell or been in contact with other dogs that have had the cough or under the weather, please please please rearrange you’re appointment for the new year and seek vets advice. The last thing I want to do is close over the Christmas period 😭.

The new aldi is on its way guys!! Just a stones throw away from Dapper Dogz!!! (Literally can see it from my window) it’s been a noisy few days mind but how convenient.

Does this mean I’m getting old if I’m excited for a new aldi 😂

Morning everyone,
I’m really sorry for any unanswered phone calls/ text from yesterday. I’m absolutely run off my feet at the moment. Trying to juggle work and reorganisation of my wedding and hen do is really getting on top of me.
Please bare with me guys. I will get back to everyone today.
As you can all appreciate that I will have a waiting list, but I am getting through everyone, slowly but surly.

And can I also ask people to be kind, it’s not hard guys, I am only human at the end of the day... we’re all going through it at the moment but I’m not a punching bag and unfortunately I was only blessed with 1 pair of hands 😔

Came across this poem written in 1869, reprinted during 1919 Pandemic.

It was written in 1869 by Kathleen O’Mara:

And people stayed at home
And read books
And listened
And they rested
And did exercises
And made art and played
And learned new ways of being
And stopped and listened

Someone meditated, someone prayed

I have made my list of people that had appointments booked in and I have had to change and I also have a list of people that want appointments. Please be patient with me when we do get back on our feet, it’s going to be one hell of a task... But I promise you all, our furry friends will get groomed ASAP 😉

Defo a good catch up if you’ve not watched it. Some very good tips for brushing and maintaining ear and teeth health. Even shows how to cut claws.

Hi everyone,

Hope your all keeping well and safe.
Oh and enjoying the glorious sunshine!!! 🌞

I know it is a very hard time for the dogs in the heat, please keep them in the shade and try keep them off of tarmac when on walks to avoid blisters.

A lot of people are asking me when I’ll be back open, the honest answer is, I don’t know. That’s totally up to the government and their guidelines. I’m sorry I can’t give you a solid answer but our health and well-being come first.

Please be rest assured that I will be in contact with everyone when I’m allowed back open. Opening times will differ to longer days (early mornings and late nights) to get everyone in ASAP.

To all people that had appointments booked, I will be in contact with you first then to people that want to make appointments.

Please be patient with us here at Dapper Dogz, we miss you all and wish you all well.

Please take care and stay safe- we will come out of this healthier... OH AND FLUFFYER 🐶😂

Please remember to keep up with your dogs flea AND worming treatments. They may not be going out as much as they usually would be, but these treatments are crucial to your dogs wellbeing.

Morning everyone.

A few people have asked me how to keep their dogs claws down, best way is to walk them on paths rather than fields, keep an eye on dew claws (front and back) if they do become ingrown please make an emergency appointment at the vets to avoid infection.

**notice to long haired dog owners**

while we are all in isolation, your long haired dogs are not getting groomed -they are likely to become matted, this can make it VERY uncomfortable for your dog.

Here is a photo to show you priority areas where we need to be brushing. **Main areas** chest, legs (front and back) belly, face/beard, tail & ears.

Evening everyone.

I just want to bite the bullet now, rather than later so we’re all on the same page.

As of tomorrow the bottom door will be locked, I will be collecting dogs from the door with my own lead. If you can all ring me when your here and I’ll come straight down (Texts are also going out to let people know of this change) I don’t want anyone in the salon at the moment, it’s not safe or big enough to be at least 2 meters apart. When your fur baby is ready I’ll meet you back at the door for hand over, don’t forget your leads 😉.

Lockdown is basically imminent for the UK, I am going to work as long as I possibly can, but I will NOT be working throughout the lockdown. I’ll be at home isolating and keeping my nearest and dearest safe. We all have to think of ourselves at moment.

I will keep you all updated on any changes to the week ahead.

If I do need to change any appointments, I will be in contact.

Thank you for everyone’s cooperation and understanding at this scary time.
