100's of the North West's top pigeon fanciers will be gathering tomorrow to send their prize birds to one of the most prestigious events in the Pigeon Racing calendar. 🐦

….. the Bamfords Gold Ring Spectacular, now in its 25th year. 🎉

Around 2000 specially marked rings are bought by fanciers to put on their selected birds and the birds then travel to Chale – Isle of Wight.

MARKING will take place tomorrow (August 25th) between 6.30am-9 am at Bamfords Globe Mill, Midge Hall lane, Midge Hall, Leyland, Lancashire, PR26 6TN.

Everyone is welcome to attend whether taking part or not (Tucker Box Leyland is on-site with refreshments).

We will also be open earlier than usual from 8am. 🐶🐱🐰🐠

The birds will then be liberated on Bank Holiday Monday morning for the flight back North.

After registering their birds' arrival at each home loft, the fanciers will then gather back at Globe Mill on Monday evening between 6pm and 8.30pm to record their birds' performance, and wait with bated breath to see if they have won a slice of the prize and pool money on offer, which can be up to £25,000.
