Bonfire night is just around the corner! 🎆
Bonfire night is one of my favourite times of the year as I love to see the fireworks, but for many of our feathered friends, it’s a very different story.
Every bird is different, and you might feel that your bird isn’t bothered by fireworks, but here are some things you can do to help your bird feel a bit safer during the night.
✨Keep your windows shut and blinds/curtains closed. Keeping out some of the noise and flashing lights will really help your little friend!
✨Turn on some music. Many of us know how much our birds like to dance along to their favourite song, and having some music on to cover the sounds outside will help to keep your bird calm.
✨Add a new toy or treat stick to the cage on Bonfire night. Having a new toy or treat is exciting and will help distract your bird!
✨Talk to your bird! Most pet bird breeds are very social and emotionally intelligent creatures. Talking to your pet in a soothing tone will help to keep them calm.
