FURTHER UPDATE RE OUT OF HOURS COVER FOR 24/25TH AUGUST

Four Crosses Vets have very kindly agreed to cover our Out of Hours for Saurday 24th and Sunday 25th August until 9am Monday.
If you telephone our number as normal you will be passed on to Four Crosses Vets.
After this weekend we will continue to cover our own out of hours as normal.

*Cat Protection Update*

Cat protection are pausing the national neutering scheme at present. This unfortunately means we cannot take on any assisted neutering at the moment.

We will give an update on when the neutering scheme will return.

**Bank Holiday, 1st May**

Just reminding our clients that on Monday (1st May) is a Bank holiday, therefore the surgery will be closed. The phone line will be available for emergencies only.
We will be back as normal on Tuesday the 2nd.

Be aware if you are picking up medication then our delivery doesn't arrive until late morning.

The goergous Ruby (black Lab) Joey, Junior and Jet (cats) would like to say hello to our clients and to hope you all have a lovely extended weekend.

Sharing on behalf of Tiggi's (pig pig) worried family. Her owners are missing her so much.

Good Evening,
Our cat has disappeared from Pont Robert, meifod, near welshpool, we think she may have got into a delivery van. We have some deliveries from the Telford area.
My daughter is beside herself with worry as this cat is one of a kind. My daughter has learning difficulties and autism and ‘Tiggi’ is her best friend.
She’s microchipped and neutered so shouldn’t have gone too far on her own accord.
She’s a bengal so very distinctive markings like a little leopard.
She answers to the name ‘pig pig’ (never stops eating!)

To all our clients.

We are experiencing problems with our phone line. We have been working hard to get it back up and running. You are able to ring the surgery but please don't be alarmed if the phone line cuts off. The phones aren't allowing us to have an engaged tone to allow clients to know that we are on the phone to another client. As you can imagine this is frustrating and alarming for anyone trying to ring in.

We are trying to get this sorted.

⚠️Ibuprofen warning ⚠️

In the last week, we have dealt with more than 25 severe ibuprofen toxicity cases
We urgently wish to remind owners that for many pets, just one 200mg tablet is enough to cause problems. Ibuprofen gels are also a risk.
Ibuprofen toxicity can cause gasterointestinal ulceration and acute kidney injury. There is also a risk of neurological signs with large overdoses.
These risks are much greater if treatment is delayed.

If you suspect your pet has ingested ibuprofen, please call Animal PoisonLine on 01202 509000. It will help if you can tell us the weight of your pet and the number of tablets ingested.
Vets should call the VPIS on 0207 3055 055 for detailed treatment advice.

**Injured cat found**

A black and white female cat that has a distinguished feature of a thickened left ear has been brought into the surgery. We suspect he has been hit by car and has severe injuries. If anyone believes this may be your cat then please get in contact on 01691648226
