Pumpkin pumpkin pumpkin…. Coco pops are NOT a suitable snack for a beagle.. especially not the whole box… so yes a trip to in Thamesmead was needed… thanks to all the staff there for their compassion and care!

Just a quick update to say thank you so much to everyone who has sent flowers, get well cards and messages. The surgery went well on the 8th December and my tonsils are gone! Apparently everyone in the Operating Room went ooooh when they came out because they were so large - so clearly it was the right decision. The recovery post surgery has been utterly hellish and I can see why people say a tonsillectomy is one of the most difficult recoveries even if the surgery is fairly quick and simple! My throat is incredibly painful and I’m struggling to consume much other than water but I know it shall pass! As you can see Nurse Pumpkin is taking excellent care of me and supervising my husband in his care of me too. Paws crossed I’ll be up and about for Christmas - as the prospect of liquidised sprouts isn’t a great one! Xx

❗️ GRASS SEEDS ❗️

Tis the season! Not a jolly one 🥹
We are seeing many pets with grass seeds causing their usual menace
We recently had a case where THREE were removed from one poor pooches eye 😣

It is advised to check your dogs paws and ears after each walk for these pesky grass seeds. If left, they just work their way further and further in and can cause a lot of pain and trauma.

If you have any concerns with regards to your pet and grass seed issues, please do not hesitate to contact us

Today Pumpkin learnt about fans… as she is in her season it’s not uncommon for bitches to become a bit nervous of new things. So rather than just pop the fan in the room and turn it on, I slowly introduced it to her with it completely switched off, rewarding her for looking at it. She was able to move away at any time and could choose to not play the game of look at the scary fan and get treats. We then moved up to turning it on for a second and then off and only rewarding for when there was movement. This was all slowly built up to the bit you then in the clip where she is happy taking the food when the fan is moving, I’m slowly increasing how much noise she is exposed to by turning the fan off, but the propellers are of course still moving. Go at your dogs speed and you can’t go wrong! Watch this space for a pic of her eventually (hopefully!) laying next to it!

I’ve been fortunate to start working with the gorgeous @leafthecav and his amazing guardians. Leaf hasn’t been getting quite enough sleep so to help get him a bit calmer we’ve been getting him to do some basic scent work and sniffing! Loving this DIY snuffle mat/tray his hooomins have made him!

A sprained ankle has put a bit of a dampener on my mobility today - however it does mean I now know what the cats do when I’m not home!! Best with the sound on!!

This is the ONLY way I’d ever have a cat on a dog! Liquorice is a toy dog used for my reactive dog clients and Toffee has been given plenty of time to get used to him and complete choice about whether she wants to do this trick.

Lots of fun sniffing for some treats hidden in leaves today.
