Hi guys You won’t be able to contact me by mobile for several hours I’m afraid. I dropped the phone in the paddling pool and it will take several hours to dry out. Silly me😭😭. Poor TOBY has just been let down, and now desperately needs a home 💔🏡😥

Little TOBY has had no luck 😭 we had been in communication with an interested family for a month now, home checks were passed after some delays, Toby is now fully vaccinated and neutered, and he was MEANT to be packing his bags for his forever home TODAY…. But instead this has just been cancelled 💔

To make matters worse, he only has one week left before he loses his foster home as he cannot stay any longer than that 😭💔

There’s a bad virus going round the UK at the moment.
Vets are putting out advice as it’s spreading really fast and they’re seeing an advanced amount of admissions.

Try stay away from parks and popular dog walking areas for the time being. Don’t let your dog drink outside water, puddles etc and dont let them sniff 💩. And clean your dogs paws after every walk in case they’ve walked in the virus then catch it when cleaning themselves 🥺

Vets are reporting higher than usual occurrenced of gastroenteritis in dogs which is fitting with a wider phenomenon as reported by The Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET). So far we have found that the cases seen- whilst clearly being poorly- have responded well to treatment.
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) advise that with prompt veterinary treatment almost all dogs make a full recovery from this uncommonly violent gastric bug.

How Is This Vomiting Bug Different?
According to Vet Dr Danielle Greenberg of SAVSNET, this vomiting bug is unusual due to:

Prolific vomiting of 5 or more episodes in a 12 hour period which can stop for a period (such as overnight) and then starts again
Dogs are often unable to keep water down at peak vomiting stage
Anorexia and lethargy for 2-5 days
Diarrhoea: Most dogs have ‘gravy-like’ diarrhoea
Full recovery can take 5-10 days

What We Know So Far:
This outbreak is affecting areas across the Midlands, Wales, the North of England and Northern Ireland
The illness is most likely a virus but has not yet been identified.
Seems to be dog-specific, thankfully humans don’t appear to be at risk.
This is not caused by Parvo or Salmonella

We are devastated to lose yet another gorgeous boy we had the pleasure to care for. Freddy Poos was such a beautiful gentle soul who fought so bravely to stay on earth as long as possible. Until the very end he was still lighting up faces and bringing joy to all who knew him. His memory will live on in our hearts and in the hearts of the many others who knew and loved him. Thank you Freddie Poos for all the love you gave us and all the smiles and laughter you brought to our lives in the years we knew you. You are now at peace and pain free at last which gives us all comfort. You have crossed the Rainbow Bridge to run and play in the meadows and hills with all your special little friends who have gone before you. We will miss you terribly. Sleep tight gorgeous boy and rest in eternal peace. ❤️❤️💔💔🌈🌈

Here at Evelyne’s Pampered Pets, our aim is to deliver the most accessible, comprehensive, high-quality dog care possible. Every pet is treated as if they were members of our own family. We are a small bespoke family-run local business based in Chafford Hundred. We provide a unique tailor made service that suits the needs of both the pet owner and their pets. We provide dog walking, day-care, pet sitting and boarding. We also like to look after cats and small animals and will feed them, clean out litter trays, play, cuddle or whatever you require. We pride ourselves on being honest, friendly, reliable, flexible & fun. Our motto is to provide a home from home environment and we will always treat your animals with the same love, care and devotion that you do! We simply chose to take care of animals because we love them and nothing gives us greater pleasure than providing care for your pets while you are away from home whether you have just gone out for the day, gone to work or you are on a well deserved holiday. My love of animals began growing up on a farm on the west coast of Ireland and I have also owned dogs and cats most of my adult life. My husband Paul's love of animals began as a child in the east end of London when his parents bought him a puppy for his birthday. We are here to help and to relieve the stress and anxiety of pet owning in today’s busy society. With us you can leave home guilt free, knowing your pets will be loved, cared and pampered as much with us as they would be with you. All our reviews are 5 star and we are fully Licenced by Thurrock Council - Licence No 17/00227/LICANB. We are DBS checked & have third party liability insurance as well as a Pet First Aid & CPR Certificate. £10 per dog supplement will be added for Bank Holidays. Please note unable to accept unneutered males or bi***es in season or large breeds.
