Caution. Xylitol is a sweetener that is harmful to dogs. It is often used in peanut butter for humans. Check the labels. We understand it is also called “Birch sugar”, so again check the labelling on any you might give to a dog.

A customer and her fur baby enjoying playtime with a Kong bone. Kong toys tend to be more durable than most, there is of course always an exception and a determined dog will demolish anything. 👍

Nigel, the 3 legged Puma at Lincs wildlife park , likes people and comes to the glass to “meow” at people and tries to get his head rubbed. Also only a centimetre of glass between Ann and the lion and yet the lion was not the least bit worried about having Ann that close 😂

Thank you to all those who put change into the Redgate Animal Sanctuary charity pot. We are given permission to break the seal and open the pot. Once counted we send a BACS payment over to the sanctuary. This helps us with some change and them as they don’t have to handle the cash.
The total being transferred to them is £93.20
Thank you, in these days when fewer people use cash it is a good amount to have built up.

And we have some winners!
The actual stitch count was 24306. Closest was Alison Lee with 24550, then we had 3 people who all guessed the same at 24000! So we will change the prizes slightly. 1st place (Alison) takes the 3kg of dog or cat food. Then we are giving 2kg to each of the others. So 2kg to Lynn East, Katie Clarke and Denise.

Today is the day. The competition is closed and now we start checking to see who has guessed closest to the stitch count. The total is 24306. We will post the winners shortly when the checking is done.

POO BAGS! Just arrived, fully compostable poo bags made from cornstarch. Big bags, 6 rolls of 15 bags in a box so 90 bags in total. They tear off easily as well. Our cheapest bags yet at only £3.99 for a box of 90 bags.

Competition time again at the Pet Shop, Feather and Fur.
Once again its a guess the stitch count. We have embroidered a t shirt as shown in the picture. The coin is a 2p to give an idea of size.
3 prizes this time, 1st is 3 kilos of our Babingtons dog or cat food, 2nd is 2 kilos and 3rd is a kilo.
To enter simply call into the shop ( Babington Road) and write down your guestimate of how many stitches have been used in the embroidery. The 3 closest guesses will win prizes accordingly.
The shirt will be viewable in the shop to help you guess.
We will run this for around 4 weeks to give you a good chance of visiting the shop.

The draw for the family ticket to Lincolnshire Wildlife Park has been done. The winner will be contacted. The entries were repeatedly dropped onto the brochure, removing those that did not land on it, until only one was left.

Free draw. We ( the pet shop, on Babington Road, Barrow upon Soar), have a family pass for the Lincolnshire Wild Life Park, which we will give free to the first name out of the hat.
To be in with a chance of winning it just drop in the shop and leave your name and number on a raffle ticket and drop it in the jar.
One entry per person.
The pass allows free entry for two adults and two children. The park is not far from Skegness, on the way almost if travelling from Barrow.
If you google it you will see it’s got a great variety of things to see, walk through aviaries, big cats, parrots ( huge variety!), and don’t forget the Tapir who loves a back scratch if he’s by the fence. 🙂
We will run this for two weeks then draw a name from the jar. The pass is valid for one family of four to use until 11 Jan 2024.
The pass will need to be collected from our shop by the winner. Please do not enter if you won’t make use of the pass.
It is not to be sold on by the winner.
It will be a great day out for a family of four.
