Many happy returns of the day to my gorgeous baby girl and all her brothers and sisters. 2 years old and what an amazing 2 years they have been. 2 Best in Show wins, a Best Puppy in Show, a Reserve Best Puppy in Show, a Junior Warrant at 13 months and twice qualified for Crufts, along with many other wins and Group placings. I couldn't be any prouder of her. Thank you Carol Ann Rutherford for trusting me with my precious little Miss Myrtle McSassyAss 😍🎂🥳

About Me

Here at Fur Friendly we firmly believe that you never stop learning and consequently spend much of our free time attending as many seminars, workshops and demonstrations in all areas of dog grooming and animal welfare that we can, travelling all over the country in pursuit of knowledge. This knowledge I would like to share with anyone who also has a passion for dogs. If you would like to learn more and become a part of our fabulous industry come and train with me in the City & Guilds Industry recognised Level 2 and level 3 Diploma qualifications. I am highly qualified, highly motivated and passionate about all things dog grooming.

Fur Friendly is a member of The Pet Industry Federation, The British Isles Grooming Association and The Groomers Spotlight, a satellite centre for The Summit Groomer Training Group and a City & Guilds approved training centre.

I began my groomer training at the Grimsby Institute in 2008 when I rescued a Cairn Terrier and wanted to learn how to handstrip him correctly. I completed the Institute Certificate, the C&G Level 2 and Level 3 diploma, receiving the level 2 and 3 Grooming student of the year awards, and began to work first as a technician and then, after completing my PTLLS teaching qualification, as a tutor at the Grimsby Institute where I taught the City & Guilds level 2 and 3 qualifications for 4 years. Alongside working at the institute, in 2010 I took over Fur Friendly Professional Grooming, then based in Manby, in 2014 we moved to our current salon in Howdales near Louth.

I attained the International Certified Master Groomer ICMG qualification in 2018, completing 5 practical exams and 7 theory papers.

I have also competed in several grooming competitions and attend as many seminars and workshops as I can to further my knowledge and keep up to date with new developments in the industry.

I currently own 2 Scottish Terriers one which I have successfully shown at Championship level including a placing at Crufts 2019, 2 crossbreed Terriers, a Miniature Poodle who takes part in agility and a Shih Tzu. All except one Scottie are rescue dogs.
