Hello you lovely people. I’m so sorry not keeping in contact more. Truth is I’ve been struggling badly mentally. A big part of that is being let down AGAIN by the NHS and having life changing (and at this point saving) surgery. So I’m going to use every ounce of energy to try and raise as much as I can. I’m having to bring my closing date forward as I’ve job offer which I’ve accepted. Despite looking forward to the future I’m still heartbroken about losing all of my wonderful dogs and owners that I’ve worked with over the years, if you have time it would be lovely to see you any of you that can come and say goodbye. I’m only going to be open Monday and Wednesday, shutting the shop up on Wednesday night for the last time. 💜💔💜

Hey everyone. Hope you’re all having a great start to the bank holiday weekend. I’ve come across a post on a local dog group and I just wanted to give a heads up to everyone. I’m not including the woman’s name but she has allowed me to share. Please just be careful as this may be an issue in other places too. On walks if you have a spare poo bag and you spot a left poo it might be worth picking one up to prevent your or other peoples dogs becoming sick or worse. Tragic story. Keep those doggos safe. ❤️💔

Been so busy here in the studio I’ve not found time to keep you all updated. I’ve met so many new dogs and had the pleasure of working with many of my regular dogs too!! This girl is a new one to be, Maya her family said she might be nervous but she was a star!! 🤩 Really look forward to seeing you again 😍

Slighty late uploading as I’ve got some sort of post Crufts sickness bug 🤢. Another amazing year representing the Griffon Bruxellois at Discover Dogs at Crufts! Shout out to Houndsly Pet Products for the craic and legacy… lots and lots of legacy!! I was at the stand most of the time so didn’t get to see much of the show, but here a snippets of the weekend!

This post is hard for me to make. And I know it may shock some people but I think sometimes we all need a reminder of what this job can contain. Also this is an apology to some of my clients as I am going to have to cancel or postpone upcoming appts but I will be in touch to each of you personally to sort things out. The dog that caused these wounds was a rescue collie cross who has been with his family for years and is around 11 years old. I hadn’t even got the dog on the table I was trying to get to know him a little before we started, before he grabbed my arm, since it happened I keep replaying it over and over again, what I could have done differently and how I could possibly have prevented this from happening, my body language etc. He went again once back out side my van which was a little less hard to predict at all. **THIS POST IS NOT TO SHAME OR DISCUSS THE DOG IN QUESTION** To those owners who say and believe their dog will never bite, please understand that this thought process makes 99% of dog professionals you interact with cringe, your dog is a dog, in the wrong environment or under enough pressure your dog will bite, why? Because they’re a dog, that’s last resort they all have. As groomers we get bitten, nipped, scratched and screamed at etc etc on much more regular occurrence than most owners will probably ever realise but because most groomers laugh it all off like it’s part of the job, which it shouldn’t be and we shouldn’t do as it dumbs down the potential real dangers we can be put in. These are worst injuries I’ve sustained not only in this job in 8 years but also my life working around dogs, and this is only 3 months after my second worst bite from a Frenchie. Groomers reading this please don’t feel like you have to take on all dogs, if you get a bad feeling there’s no problem with walking away, the owners may not understand but by doing that your being the best professional you can be. Don’t make yourself uncomfortable to make owners happy, you don’t want to go through what I have in the last 24hrs.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Do not take your dogs out in this heat, even if it’s overcast, a short “toilet” walk up the road and back but nothing more. Just like us our dogs aren’t used to this heat. Even when it cools slightly but it’s still hot and sunny before walking your dogs, stand barefoot on the tarmac or pavement where you plan to walk your dog, if you can’t stand for 30sec without feeling discomfort, don’t put your dogs feet through it either.

The beautiful Nora the Coton De Tulear came to me today for a full bath and trim. Her coat may be stunning and so cuddly but boy is it hard to work with 🥵😂 I’m just lucky she’s so well behaved.

Managed to get my own boy Hugo handstripped today. He’s not been stripped since being neutered, and his coat was still happy too be stripped, hoping to use him in a grooming competition in the future 🤞🏻
