Sorry I have been so quiet on my socials lately! I have been so busy that my social media was being forgotten 🫣

I am booked up for the majority of April but I do have some slots at the end of April.

Thought I’d return to social media with a return visit to this lovely lady who’s asymmetry and top line has improved massively since my last visit. 1st picture is today and the second was 8 weeks ago 😊

Another interesting case of asymmetries today for a lovely OTTB.
The right shoulder muscles (indicated below) significantly weaker than the left. The owner was given an exercise plan to target weaknesses ⭐️

Does your horse have correct hoof balance?

How reliable is external assessment of hoof balance?

I have just published a new paper where we did a reliability study on HoofmApp.
We also compared it to other computer systems and AI marked images which is data we hope to publish as soon as possible.

We found the same thing between untrained human mark ups regardless of the system used and the AI system needed regular human correction.

What we found is that once someone has established their external datum points for placement of templates or measurements, this was highly repeatable. HoofmApp had a near perfect intra-rater reliability.

However! Regardless of the system used, the reliability between observers, while remaining statistically insignificant, was affected by a range of measurements due to people having slightly different points of reference.
One of the most obvious places being the coronet angle (yellow area in picture).

So our job now is to educate on where to measure from and too and where to place your templates!

Osteoarthritis in dogs 🐾🐩

OA is progressive condition caused my inflammation of a joint that leads to permanent changes in the joint / surrounding structures. It is common in older dogs due to wear and tear of joints. However, there are many younger dogs that develop OA when steps could have been taken to prevent the early on set.

If your dog has osteoarthritis or if you are worried that your dog could be at risk then don’t hesitate to contact me 🐾

Visit today to a lovely boy struggling in canter - the assessment revealed muscle asymmetries (pictured below) and some weaknesses. I treated and left the owner with exercises to target the weaknesses 🐴
