Upcoming equine Gastroscope days 12th and 17th June. £150 including sedation. The horse must be stabled with us the night before so can be starved for 12 hours so the stomach is clear to assess for ulcers. Please phone the surgery to book in. 01623 620784

So today's task collecting 💩💩 for the 💩 kits ( worm counts) 🤣. Thank you to all of our liveries who patiently waited for their horse to 💩 so we could take a sample. Good job it was a lovely sunny day as some waited longer than others.

Introducing Jackson or Jack for short.
So after seriously injuring her back after a fall Lauren decided that she needed to sell her horse Belle. It was decided that Belle needed to go to someone who would do more with her and a professional new home was found. This was absolutely the right decision.
Lauren's plan was to completely heal and see how she felt afterwards.
Did this happen ?????? NO. !!!!! Lauren felt something was missing and only 5 weeks later along came Jack. Jack is a shire x Welsh and has totally restored Lauren's confidence. He's safe but has a boost button when needed. He's 15 years young and looks as fit as a fiddle. In truth he's an absolute confidence giving star. Lauren is now back enjoying her riding more than ever.
Don't ever give up on your dreams even if your confidence has been shattered. Sometimes things don't quite work out but then another chance will come as we can see here. 🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️

So for those of you wondering what we were going to do with the space from the recent barn demolition we decided to leave a section of the walls up. So now it's our new muck heap. All nicely contained in one area no straw blowing around the yard YIPPEEEE !!!!!! Of course the project wouldn't be complete without the dog inspecting it. 🤣🤣❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴

Wow thank you E Marris Farriery Dipwcf - Registered Farrier this was a massive crack from the coronet band but 12 months later it looks like a different hoof. Yes it's been a head scratcher and at times stressful but well done what a difference.
Just shows how important it is to have a regular farrier. No foot no horse as the saying goes. In this case it could have been so much worse. 🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️

Wow busy busy morning today. First came Amy Owen who does our horses physio then Martin Dennis Equine Dental Technician and last but not least the equine winky washer. Nicely timed you guys as several horses had multiple treatments. We certainly need these professionals to keep our horses in tip top condition. Field swap day today so fresh grass for our residents. Certainly looks like they are enjoying the sunshine too.

Demolition time folks!!!!! Goodbye old hay barn it's been up since 1958!!!! I'm sure some of you who have been here in the past will remember it. Originally built as corn store then three internal stables at one point and finally the last few years where our liveries collected their hay and straw quota from. Its certainly had some use over the years but its finally given up with the roof beams being totally rotten and snapped !!!!!! Spring is definitely here time for projects and tidy up. ❤️🐴❤️🐴

Meet another one of our horses. This is Pilgrim or Grim, Grimble or boss man as he is known by.
To say he came here as quite a difficult horse would be an understatement. Hats off to Ethan who has stuck by him and managed to get some results.
They've done some jumping, been to the beach , cross country practice and recently been on one of the local hunt ambles.
Just goes to show keep trying and you will get there .
To be honest he's been here a few years now and he is a different horse. Don't get me wrong still.has his moments as most of them do.
Pilgrim needs Ethan and vice versa if ever a true match this combination is it. Well done team Grimble. ❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴

Early identification and treatment of these dental problems are crucial for extending the quality of life for ageing horses.

It's important to remember that horses often mask signs of dental pain, so there may be no clinical signs until advanced stages of disease.

By prioritising proactive dental maintenance every 6-12 months from a young age, we can ensure our equine companions enjoy their golden years comfortably and healthily.

At long last summer turnout has finally arrived!!!!!! It's been the longest winter in history but at last we've actually made it. One last muck out for me this morning. Now it's time to catch up on other spring jobs and new projects.
All the horses were happy to be out on the grass after the wet wet winter we've all had. Well done all of you equestrians who have made it this far. For those that still are waiting hang on in there it won't be long.

Introducing Lady who is owned by Melinda. Lady has restored faith in riding for Melinda after she had a really difficult horse to deal with and unfortunately had to sell him on. Together they've come such a long way and enjoy hacking out with friends.
Lady has many good qualities, good doer, good feet and lovely temperament. But as you can see from the photos Lady loves to roll and roll and roll. I seriously think she wants to be a bay. Some people pay good money to get their eyebrows done. Being the style icon that she is Lady manages to do her own every day. I feel for Melinda brushing her off every day some may think well she can't be that bad in summer. WRONG even when it's dry she will find a good patch so tango orange or s**t brown anything will do and always the eyebrows done. I feel your pain Melinda but whatever colour she chooses to be I know you love her. 🐴❤️🐴❤️🐴❤️

Advice given on feeding and medications if ulcers are present.

We can provide livery overnight prior to scope at an extra cost. Your horse MUST be starved overnight prior to scoping.

Medications required after scoping will be charged in addition.
