Everyone who follows this page will know how much we love this chestnut lady. But I am supposed to be buying a house this year and I think I’ve got to show some willing in affording that… competing two horses probably isn’t being a team player
And so…
Stunning 16.1 7yo chestnut Irish sport mare.
Ringwood Curiosity has been with us since May 2023 and has been a pleasure to produce. Bred by the Ringwood stud with Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve bloodlines by stallion Hype. She was bought from Ireland where she had gained an impeccable SJI record up to 1.10.
Since being with me she has been introduced to the world of eventing. Last year she did some unaff 90s and was dc each time. This year she has been DC in 3/4 Be100 and has qualified for two regional finals for Badminton. She was entered into more but they were cancelled due to weather. Generally low 30’s tests with so much more to come.
We have taken her to a handful of BS shows where she has won and placed up to discovery. She is confidently xc schooling at 100/novice level and is bold to water, ditches, steps, skinnies and corners.
Maple has all the attributes to make a really smart competition horse. She moves beautifully, has plenty of scope, is almost 40% blood and is very trainable.
She is quick and careful to a fence and would continue with a successful showjumping career just as she did in Ireland.
She is a fun forward mare who enjoys her work and is always trying to do the right thing.
Good to do in every way, I take her out on my own for all of her training. She is no different at a show to how she is at home, she has beautiful manners. Super to load and travel.
She can however be spooky and so will not suit everyone. Never really to a fence more at general life. I don’t think I could fluke 6/7 DCs at events if she was spooky to fences!
She doesn’t like to hack alone from our yard. She is not a nappy backwards horse in anyway. We live on a very busy road and she is quite wary of the bigger lorries. She usually goes to the farm ride once a fortnight and is brilliant to hack there alone off road. I have driven her to hack with friends in a much quieter part of the county and she actually leads the other horses, so it is more than probable in a quieter area she would hack alone. But will follow a friend past absolutely anything and isn’t bothered with smaller traffic or farm animals etc.
I have left her at two different friends yards whilst I’ve been on holiday and she’s slotted into life with both of them seamlessly. She isn’t high maintenance.
Easy to do on the ground but we did sedate her to clip last year.
Would suit professional or competent amateur. Could be a super badminton grassroots prospect or ready to step up to Novice/2*
Full set of good x rays from when I purchased her.
Not a stereotypical mareish mare but she is a competition horse with a brain.
Open to any vet
Ill keep competing her as if she isn’t for sale because I don’t really want to sell her. But sometimes we have to be a grown up and accept that life isn’t always about riding beautiful ponies around.
Substantial price required for this special girl who could be someone’s everything.
Every single photo/video I have of her is on this page or my instagram… a whole year of adventures documented so please go ahead and look at everything we’ve done together.
Will only go to the very best of homes.
Please call 07584098810 if you’d like to know anything else about her
