Everyone who follows this page will know how much we love this chestnut lady. But I am supposed to be buying a house this year and I think I’ve got to show some willing in affording that… competing two horses probably isn’t being a team player
And so…
Stunning 16.1 7yo chestnut Irish sport mare.
Ringwood Curiosity has been with us since May 2023 and has been a pleasure to produce. Bred by the Ringwood stud with Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve bloodlines by stallion Hype. She was bought from Ireland where she had gained an impeccable SJI record up to 1.10.
Since being with me she has been introduced to the world of eventing. Last year she did some unaff 90s and was dc each time. This year she has been DC in 3/4 Be100 and has qualified for two regional finals for Badminton. She was entered into more but they were cancelled due to weather. Generally low 30’s tests with so much more to come.
We have taken her to a handful of BS shows where she has won and placed up to discovery. She is confidently xc schooling at 100/novice level and is bold to water, ditches, steps, skinnies and corners.
Maple has all the attributes to make a really smart competition horse. She moves beautifully, has plenty of scope, is almost 40% blood and is very trainable.
She is quick and careful to a fence and would continue with a successful showjumping career just as she did in Ireland.
She is a fun forward mare who enjoys her work and is always trying to do the right thing.
Good to do in every way, I take her out on my own for all of her training. She is no different at a show to how she is at home, she has beautiful manners. Super to load and travel.
She can however be spooky and so will not suit everyone. Never really to a fence more at general life. I don’t think I could fluke 6/7 DCs at events if she was spooky to fences!
She doesn’t like to hack alone from our yard. She is not a nappy backwards horse in anyway. We live on a very busy road and she is quite wary of the bigger lorries. She usually goes to the farm ride once a fortnight and is brilliant to hack there alone off road. I have driven her to hack with friends in a much quieter part of the county and she actually leads the other horses, so it is more than probable in a quieter area she would hack alone. But will follow a friend past absolutely anything and isn’t bothered with smaller traffic or farm animals etc.
I have left her at two different friends yards whilst I’ve been on holiday and she’s slotted into life with both of them seamlessly. She isn’t high maintenance.
Easy to do on the ground but we did sedate her to clip last year.
Would suit professional or competent amateur. Could be a super badminton grassroots prospect or ready to step up to Novice/2*
Full set of good x rays from when I purchased her.
Not a stereotypical mareish mare but she is a competition horse with a brain.
Open to any vet
Ill keep competing her as if she isn’t for sale because I don’t really want to sell her. But sometimes we have to be a grown up and accept that life isn’t always about riding beautiful ponies around.
Substantial price required for this special girl who could be someone’s everything.
Every single photo/video I have of her is on this page or my instagram… a whole year of adventures documented so please go ahead and look at everything we’ve done together.
Will only go to the very best of homes.
Please call 07584098810 if you’d like to know anything else about her

Available for lessons this Saturday 28thJuly

I have a rare weekend off from shows and so am available to teach.
Somerford/smallwood or I have a cool course up in Byley with a mix of SJ and XC… or flatwork if we’ve really got to… 🙈
I can do private, pairs, groups whatever we all want to identify as!

Plus… I’m having a hacking track built this weekend and if I’m here with nothing to do I’ll be made to help bang fence posts in. I’ve already done a day fencing this month.. please no more 🙏

Crumpet having the most glorious time whizzing round Aston Intermediate for 6th place!
He thought going xc in a snaffle was absolutely marvellous. Look how happy he is!
I’m feeling very lucky to have him feeling so content having stepped up a level. What a privilege it is to ride him 💜🧇🧡

Not to be outdone by her stable mate
Ringwood Curiosity had a trip to Dean Valley yesterday to jump the 1.05 and Newcomers.
Sadly her jockey must have still been in XC mode from the day before as I, not Maple had two down in both classes for being abit gung ho! Nevertheless even with useless jockey doing ridiculous things Mapes jumped beautifully and was her usual delightful self. Look at those careful front legs! 👑 🍁

Crumpet feeling pretty incredible on his way to 6th in the Intermediate with a super DC. Flying on his Keyflow Feeds diet! Pink mash, Sensicare and Key 3 oil keep him shining from the inside out!

I want to note that Sarah Hedges made me buy this extra photo of my perfect tangerine dream. When Sid eventually asks me how much money I’ve saved towards a new house i will present him with my entire works “Crumpet: A Life in Portraits”

Oh Crumpet you have my whole heart! ❤️ 🧇
35.2 dr and a speedy DC to finish 6th in the Intermediate Aston yesterday!! Only our second attempt at this level 🥰
I must be the only eventer who hasn’t been to Aston in about 12 years! It was totally lovely. We had such a fab day from start to finish and I’m so thrilled that he’s already feeling competitive at this level when I feel like there is so much we can improve. I was even more thrilled when I walked the course to find 3 waters and two trakehners… water and ditches have not always been Crumpet’s greatest allies but he’s feeling very grown up all of a sudden and he galloped round everything with his happy little breakfast ears pricked!
My lovely friend laughed with me in the lorry park that he’s had a year off and gone from BE100 to placing at an Intermediate in about 5 shows. Angels really do walk amongst us and they’re called Crumpet 😇
It’s pretty exciting to be in a field of famous people on very fancy horses and coming home with a rosette. Even if we feel about a hand smaller than everyone else and we’re dressed in fluorescent pink 💕
We are victims of the recent Myler bit ban, and so what a relief it is to have found something else to Crumpet’s liking… in fact he thought it was rather marvellous to go XC in a snaffle 🐎 💨 😆
Thankyou as ever to Mary for giving us a tune up last week in the art of sitting trot and halting… it worked 😊
Thankyou also to Gaby Kerfoot for keeping him feeling like a million dollars… maybe even two millions dollars… 💵
Oh Crumpet you perfect little being, you are making my dreams come true 🥰 💜🧇🧡

Introducing a brand new intermediate event horse. All hail King Crumpet. Long live the King! 👑 🧇

Well this will be a long and gushing post about the best pony in the entire the world.
Yesterday off we went to the very cool Upton House for the first time to do our first Intermediate together. I think it’s my new favourite show! It’s so lovely there!
Crumps was a dream from start to finish!
He is very capable on the flat but can be quite tense and do some erratic things. Last time out he scored a brilliant 27 but only after he had performed a short rodeo demonstration in place of what should have been a beautiful first halt. I was therefore thrilled yesterday when he kept a lid on things and felt pretty rideable. So thrilled in fact I performed my entire test grinning thinking, “This is absolutely magnificent, we’re trotting where we are supposed to be trotting, we’re going sidewards where we’re supposed to be going sidewards- this might be one of the calmest tests we’ve done” so how hilarious was it to read the judge’s comment on my sheet, “Well done for keeping smiling throughout”
Evidently she thought I was putting a brave face on a tricky test when I thought it was genuinely marvellous! Maybe we gave off the energy of a sub 30 partnership just suffering a slightly off day and not first timers…
Anyway after about half an hour of me having to do sitting trot and a couple of mistakes being new to the level, we were left on 38.4 and somewhere in the middle of the pack. A success!
He pinged round the SJ with his usual joie de vivre to just tip a pole. His first time back on grass since 2022 and I can’t say we really noticed!
And then he sailed round a very hilly xc in the rain making it all feel very easy. He really is the best thing in the entire world!
To now know he has the capability of being competitive at this level is so exciting, and feels like a real step up for us both!

Yesterday was a really big deal for me. I remember being a teenager in a non horsey household and being absolutely fascinated with eventing for some unexplainable reason. I watched and rewatched extremely old badminton videos because it’s all I really had access to and thinking that world seemed so far away. I didn’t do my first be90 until I was in my 20s and a working pupil, and even then I still never really felt part of the eventing world. I was just a useless working pupil watching everyone around me go to these amazing shows on their equally amazing horses. I think sometimes that world can feel impenetrable.
It can also be disheartening when money plays such a big factor in the sport and I remember what it felt like to be the kid on the tricky horses and ponies who didn’t have half a chance at being competitive at any level…
Of course that made the eventing bubble feel even further away…and it is still sometimes hard not to envy people who are in the position to go and buy Monbeg Cooley Luxury du Loir V and be able to have lessons every day while they’re based at some fabulous centre somewhere.
But days like yesterday show sometimes with a bit of luck and the right people on your side it is doable … if you’d told me even a decade ago I’d have a horse now qualified for 3* I would have had a hard time believing that!
But it just takes one super generous little horse like Crumpet and then the best support team of people to help you navigate the ups and downs.
Some days with horses are proper s**t.. sorry but there’s no other way to say it! Crumpet had approximately 365 of them last year while he was off games. And yet some days will be the best of your life and for the 14yo version of me yesterday was a dream come true…
Crumpet you absolutely remain the very best breakfast food in the entire world and what I ever did to deserve you I’ll never know!
Thankyou to everyone who helps us and to everyone who just tells him he’s the best breakfast food in the world!
For now he can chill in his field for a few days telling all of the other horses here that he is officially an intermediate event horse and therefore one extremely fancy Crumpet!

Ringwood Curiosity absolutely pinging round the discovery DC and just outside the top 6 in 7th place 🍁
Sadly we had to withdraw from the 1.05 due to the delay of the class (hope the rider who had a horrid tumble is back on her feet soon ❤️) but I’m very pleased that our wonderful lady is feeling so secure and ready for us to step up!
A lovely moment was seeing Ringwood Curiosity
and her brother Cosmo reunited with each other after leaving each other in Ireland last year 🇮🇪

We had the most glorious weekend at Eland Lodge in the ☀️
Saturday was the turn of Ringwood Curiosity in the BE100 and she was an absolute star again!
Abit of a tense test as she realised there was some xc happening behind the hedge of the dressage arena but she followed it up with another super double clear feeling very confident indeed! That is now 3/4 DC’s at 100 for Maple this year. She is pretty bloody cool! Who doesn’t love a redheaded lady?! We’re thrilled with her! 🍁 🥰
Sunday we were back with the most beautiful breakfast food in the world…. And how exciting was his day! Julius or as he is better known Crumpet was back in the Novice. We started with the world’s worst first halt in the dressage as he too realised there was some xc happening behind the hedge of the dressage arena. (Video to follow- it’s fairly spectacular) He still absolutely smashed it though for a 27.8 and good enough for 🥈 place after dressage. Just imagine without the rodeo antics he could have led his section which is highly exciting! He jumped a beautiful clear SJ leaving him in 🥈 going into xc. Sadly he along with a few others had a frustrating run out at a corner but felt absolutely wonderful round the rest of a really lovely course! Who knows what he saw lurking on that corner… but he is feeling absolutely brilliant and I have to remind myself this is only his 3rd run back since 2022 because of the ☔️ so we both probably needed a little wake up before things start getting abit more serious this year.
How lucky am I to have both of these gorgeous horses? They’re very different from each other but they are both such kind and generous people! My two perfect blobs of marmalade 🍊
Thankyou as ever to Keyflow Feeds for keeping them feeling their best (Top tip for competing in this weather. We take Pink Mash to add to their water to keep them drinking away from home) and Devoucoux for having them happy in their work in beautifully fitted tack. We couldn’t ask them to do what they do for me in the wrong wardrobe!

Maple is the beautiful lady in a brown fly veil and a pink numnah. Crumpet is the s*x bomb who SJ in a black fly veil white numnah and naked ears XC

On to the next adventure…let’s hope it stays ☀️

Absolutely thrilled to have the support of Keyflow Feeds for another year!
Running a yard while trying to make a living, nurture happy horses and owners all while trying to compete brings so much stuff to worry about… my neurotic voice notes to friends are endless!
However one thing that never makes that list is our feeding system. Every horse on my yard is exclusively fed Keyflow feed. They are all happy and healthy making them look great but feel even better. We sometimes have horses arrive not feeling their best and I am yet to be proven wrong that Keyflow won’t help them blossom.
Its my 7th year being part of and how grateful I am to have the unwavering help and guidance from the reps and to be part of a group of people who have horse health at the top of their priorities.
I choose Keyflow everyday because the results speak for themselves ( Crumpet chooses it everyday because he says it delicious) and we are proud to fly the Keyflow flag!

I don’t actually remember the last time I had a xc lesson and it was just really great fun!
Crumpet is feeling totally wonderful, he’s obviously the most beautiful thing on earth and I’m feeling like I’m in a good place going off to our show this weekend 🥰
What a magnificent morning!
Thankyou Mary for literally always helping me with just about everything! 💕

A nice chance for Maple to do another BE test and pop round some BE100 fences after she missed her last run due to the ☔️
It’s all good learning when you’re a baby event horse 🐴 Thanks to Kelsall for offering this really cool little afternoon for the babies. Maple as ever was a very good lady doing some nice trotting and then popping round everything happily 🦄

My grass growing skills know no bounds… I could be a hay farmer…
First day in the summer fields for some of the girls on the yard. I spend a lot of time and money maintaining our grazing and my favourite day of the year is watching the horses enjoy the long summer grass for the first time! 🌱 🐴

A quick trip to Kelsall today just Crumpet and I for a spin round the Foxhunter and a trot up the gallops…
We haven’t jumped a 1.20 since 2022 and I was admittedly feeling pretty rusty warming up over bigger fences. I needn’t have worried though Crumpet jumped the most beautiful round to just have an annoying 4flts at the final double where he didn’t quite make the longer distance coming out.
I’m thrilled with how he’s feeling currently and cherishing every trip out together after our whole year off last year. 🥰
We still haven’t done loads this year while he’s been coming back into full work and I have my own little rituals I have to stick to in order to keep me feeling confident round bigger stuff, and it’s been a while … I am very very lucky to have a Crumpet and I trust him implicitly but I can slip into imposter syndrome so very easily, so I’m feeling very relieved that coming straight back out at Fox felt pretty easy. Looking forward to our next event (which is an exciting one ❤️)… Love you Crumpet you’re the best thing in the whole world 🧡🥞 💜

Ariat Palisade Boots Mahogany with Snakeskin details
5.5 regular calf short

I bought these outrageously beautiful boots at the start of the year. I’ve worn them round the house abit to break them in but I’ve actually only ridden in them 3 times in the hopes they would start to drop. But I am admitting defeat I am simply too short…

They cost me about £300 and are obviously immaculate

What a busy weekend!
On Sunday we went to Bishop Burton with Crumpet in the Novice. He did a very nice test but got abit stuck in the mud for 35. He jumped a beautiful clear SJ but I decided to withdraw him and save him for another day XC. It’s only his 3rd run back after a year off and I didn’t feel it fair to him to ask him to jump in the bog. He still remains the best thing in the world 🥞 🌎

Star of the weekend was Ringwood Curiosity 🍁(photos below of her grand day out) who went off to Shelford Manor for the BE100. She did a beautiful test for 33 and then pinged round DC to finish 4th! I am so proud of her! She was so grown up all day! Mapes is definitely turning into a little consistent superstar she’s placed in 3 out of her last 4 outings BE/BS. 🥰

As ever thankyou to Devoucoux for kitting both of my pumpkins out in beautifully fitting tack, and to Keyflow Feeds for keeping them sparkling from the inside out.

There has been some tragic losses this weekend in the equestrian community and for us elsewhere. My heart is absolutely with those families affected. It’s unbearable to comprehend. A stark reminder to cherish those around us. How unbelievably lucky we are 💔
