The handsome Coco has been aking the most joining the Pet Health Club this month.

So far he has been vaccinated, microchipped free of charge, received flea and worm treatment plus his owners have had a discount on his castration.

Over the year his owners will save over £150, which is over 40% on the cost of his routine healthcare.

Although we have not hit summer yet it is still warm enough to be wary of heat stroke in your pets.

Perry collapssed with heat stroke after exercise in the sun on Friday with a temperature of 107F.

Here he is after being cooled with water and being fitted with a drip to rehydrate him.

The lovely Wilbur came to us for a vasecctomy last week. He is extremely friendly and spent most of the day asking for cuddles!

Femal ferrets are induced ovulators, which means that they will stay in season permamently unless mated. The high levels of oestrogen this exposes them to causes anaemia and can be fatal.

A vasectomy allows male ferrets to mate with them without producing lots of babies to keep them healthy.

We hope the Wilbur enjoys his new task!

We are delighted to introduce our new full time Vet, Tim Wilson BVSc MRCVS

Time joined the practice in March and is a highly experienced vet, having qualified in 1999. He has worked in first opinion practice as a Clinical Director and owner. Tim was also a technical advisor in laser and regenerative medicine.

Tim has an interest in exotics and backyard poultry.

Outside of work Tim enjoys swimming, scuba diving, running and helicopters!

Tim helps out at Pear Tree Animal Sanctuary and keeps rescue hens, sheep and goats in between family time.

We have had some lovely feedback from clients since Tim started and he looks forward to meeting you soon!

We are CLOSED on Saturday 23rd December but are offering an emergency only clinic 8.30-12 at Midsomer Vets. This is appointment only, emergency fees will apply - please phone prior to arrival.

From 12pm on Sat 23rd December, all emergencies will be received by our out of hours provider until Wednesday 27th December at 8.30am

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Lin Pegler a few days ago.

Lin was our morning receptionist from 2000 until 2020 and was a passionate cat lover. She will be well known to many of our long standing clients and we would like to send our condolences to her family.

🐱FELINE HYPERTENSION MONTH🐱

May is feline hypertension month (high blood pressure)🩺

We want to raise awareness of what this means to our cat owners, and ensure that all our feline patients are recieving the best possible care.

For the whole of May we will be offering nurse blood pressure clinics for our feline friends at a reduced rate of £27.50!
Following these clinics, we can discuss the next best tests depending on the results we see.

You will also be sent away with a small goodie bag that will contain facts and adaptations you can make in the home 🏠
