It’s been a busy and successful few weeks for Skelwith horses and ponies, competing both nationally and internationally as well as closer to home!
Skelwith Diamond lady has had much success jumping in America with Richie Maloney,
Skelwith Lou Lou has qualified for both regionals and pet plan dressage finals. ( owned by Cheryl Reynolds and ridden by Nicky Southall)
Skelwith Atomic Lady Muriel and Skelwith Great Empress have qualified for the PC regional champs ridden by Poppy
SPSS graded stallion Gorfelyn Persian Monarch is showing his versatility and temperament jumping HOYS WH classes with Rachel and also qualifying for the national PC SJ champs with 12 year old Poppy!
Not forgetting Skelwith Sunflower is out winning SJ with Arabella! 🤩
We are a small family run stud who breed for temperament and ability and we love getting updates from animals we have sold so please send us updates of what your Skelwith horse/ pony is up to!

What a fabulous day we had at Bolesworth International yesterday! Sports Pony Studbook Society (SPSS) graded Welsh Section D stallion Gorfelyn Persian Monarch jumped a super round for the team, just having an unlucky pole! Poppy was easily one of the youngest riding and Monarch holding his own in a class of mainly horses! What a pony he is! 😍

Last week was a big week for Skelwith Atomics lady Muriel! This lovely mare is a late starter with competing as has spent the majority of her life as a brood mare or a Nanny ( to both ponies and grandchildren!) so last week was a bit of a shock to the system with team SJ training and her first ever Compact Event with 12 year old Poppy and also jumped her First RI WH qualifier with Rachel! She has a busy and exciting season ahead! 🤩

The first Insemination of 2024 completed (by our own technician Emma Launder ) but a bit of a rollercoaster. Having set the mare up ready ( Kerry Vale Vets ) the semen came through customs at East Midlands airport at 3am so looked good to be on time only to be told DHL couldn't get it to us till tomorrow Friday . The Stallion Company waded in and i can't thank them enough for ensuring DHL changed their approach and got it to Skelwith Stud on time .
So fingers crossed now for Skelwith Lady Delilah ( Balou du Rouet ) to be in foal to Quintero La Silla .

Skelwith Atomics Lady Muriel had her first go at PC team SJ on Sunday! Following in her wonderful mother’s footsteps who competed for PC in area SJ teams with 5 different children as well as having a very successful ridden and working hunter career! 🤩

It’s been a busy week for Gorfelyn Persian Monarch as not only has he been Graded by the SPSS ( Sports Pony Studbook Society (SPSS)) he has also represented the PC at both the Regional Dressage championships and the Showjumping championships. He qualified for both of these finals with 11 year old Poppy! He really is a versatile, talented boy! Yesterday Monarch jumped one of only 25 double clears out of 97 riders! He then went into round 3 and just had an unlucky pole, but helped his team into a very respectable 4th place! 😍 Monarch is available to a limited number of mares next season! He is a busy boy so get your bookings in early 🤩

Skelwith Stud had a great day on Monday! We took 2 year old Skelwith Ooo La La ( Renkum Signeur/ Victoire DeLa’aurore/ Equus Mr Spock) and Gorfelyn Persian Monarch ( Gorfelyn Welsh King/ Nantllesg Personality) to the SPSS stallion grading at Northcote Stud! Both Stallions were graded with fabulous comments from the judges! 😍🏆

What a lovely evening out for team Skelwith last night! With 3 homebred mares and a home produced gelding all jumping good rounds! It The two section D mares Share the same maternal grand sire who was our foundation stallion Pwllceffyl Rocket! 😍
