Flat-faced dogs, like bulldogs and pugs, are among the most popular dog breeds. 🐶 In the veterinary world we call these types of breeds brachycephalic.

But before you take a leap and add a flat-faced dog to your family, it's important to consider that these breeds are prone to specific health issues, the most common being respiratory problems.

Brachiocephalic syndrome refers to respiratory distress caused by their shorter than normal facial features, including small nostrils, short noses, and narrow airways. Common signs are:

👉 Difficulty breathing and wheezing
👉 Excessive snoring, panting, coughing or gagging
👉 Intolerance to exercise and heat
👉 Difficulty swallowing and sleeping
👉 Discoloration of the gums and/or tongue

My usually moan at bloody idiots. This time of year walking dogs in 28plus heat. So you walk them on the road not in the shade they burn their pads. Then their internal organs over heat then what by the time you notice it’s too late we’ll done. I’ve cancelled dogs at it’s too hot in the van so think about it walk in your bare feet on the road or path with a coat on in this heat then you are half way to how hot it is for them. Rant over I used this pic cause Korso is beautiful not that he’s been walked in the heat ❤️❤️❤️

To my Human Mums & Dads this is what happens to my paws when you take me out in the scorching sun ☀️ when the pavements are so hot ! Remember I sweat through my paws so in this heat I can’t get rid of my sweat as my paws are burning. Please let me just relax indoors and take me out when the sun is down !🥰

Unfortunately the van has decided she doesn’t want to go anywhere today.
She would rather sit in a customers drive.
Clutch pedal won’t go back up so can’t get in gear. To move
Karma annoy someone else.
