EquiGlo brand ambassador Bracken Parkhouse Dressage tells us about her pony Rodger:

“We make sure that unmolassed quick soak beet plays a key role in my pony, Rodger’s feeding regime. It is high in fibre and low in sugar and starch, which gives plenty of the slow release energy he needs. The feed also helps to supports his gut health and keeps him in good condition throughout the winter.

Rodger is a 14.1 buckskin German riding pony. I have owned him since he was a four-year-old stallion. This year we have been competing at Premier Leagues and the Lemieux National Dressage Championship at pony FEI level.

I choose to feed quick soak beet because I know that it has been made by experts in the field of micronisation - a process that allows the feed to be soaked and ready to eat in minutes. This is particularly helpful when we are away at competitions, as it is quick and easy for us to make, and provides a premium quality, palatable fibre feed for Rodger”.

Huge thanks to Brackenspa Stud for hosting a super stallion parade and Open day today, with lots of stallions to watch, superb vet talks by Tower Equine and brilliant catering. Made to feel really welcome and the weather held really well - a couple of sharp showers and a little windy (Little Jim is modelling that in his photos!!!) but a really enjoyable day.

Langwedh Sunny Jim our gorgeous Cremello Section B had a fantastic outing with his “showing mum” Vicky and enjoyed every minute. Although has “wintered” rather well and still holding onto his winter woolies he enjoyed the special attention and loved his audience.

Little Jim is the sire of many successful ponies and crosses well with all types. Having been reserve champion at his SPSS Grading, he has elite graded, graded stallions, BD young pony dressage winners, exported stock. The list is endless.

Beside that he is a family pet and would happily come and sit at the kitchen table for dinner and mostly lives in the garden, that’s a great space for him as he gets carrots over the garden wall and often pinches the fat balls meant for the birds!!! The girls (pictured) brushed him and got him ready this morning whilst he ate his breakfast!!!

Thistledown Copper Lustre - aka Harry.
Our 21 year old Permanently Graded SPSS stallion is out yet again showing a small child the ropes!!! He never does anything without a smile on his face. He has been brought out of 5 years retirement and into work and his little face when he saw the lorry he was up the ramp like a shot!!!

This week back out in the dressage arena with our daughter Millie remembering all his beautiful manners, this combination will just blossom. I think they will just get better and better.

Also added a photo when he was out with “his first child jockey” when he was only 5, even at that young age beautiful manners and taking care of precious cargo. Also we can’t neglect as Christmas is coming up, his starring role in Cinderella when he again was only 5. This pony is a legend.
