LORD ILSLEY RACING - HORSES FOR 2016
The Lord Ilsley Racing stable visit takes place on Sunday 29th November.
2015 saw Needless Shouting record a debut win over hurdles whilst Ettie Hart, although late to blossom ran an excellent second on her only outing as a two year old. 2016 promises much with a new yearling colt by Sayif joining the ranks and you can see the video here as Mick and Michael Jnr teeter on the verge of bickering.
A Man For All Seasons Part 3
A Man For All Seasons Part 3 - Success and swearing in this bit - The end of the 2003 documentary.
A Man For All Seasons Part 2 - Back home to Orcheston - The Cup Final - & The Guineas.
A Man For All Seasons Part 1 - Twenty eight years after speaking like a worzel Mick was at it again for the 2003 flat season. He was now a trainer. We apologise for the foul language and that, but please enjoy catching up with whatever he did in between.
Man On The Run 9 - The End -
Mick resists the urge to call Jane 'The Wife' but expresses his sadness about asking for a transfer because it would ruin "A way of life".
He changed his mind though and stayed on to enjoy another two years at The Dell - not moving turned out to be a good move because of Stokesy's left peg in May of 1976.
Thanks Bob.
Man On The Run 8 - The birth of Man On The Run (who was even ridden by Luke Harvey believe it or not). His mother, Cathy Jane also produced Jamesmead who won the Tote Gold Trophy in 1988. The Boss also shows off his riding prowess which every jockey has been compared to ever since.
To be fair, he insists it was tricky because Bill Wightman's Land Rover was upsides.
Man On The Run 7 - Contemplating leaving Saints and talking about dodgy stuff that Mick can't add up. This is 1975 remember and humour was OK back then.
Man On The Run 6 - A missed penalty against United, England training and Jane listens to the radio next to an enormous bottle of milk.
Man On The Run 5 - Loads of swearing at half time against United. Ossie with his head in his hands and Lawrie trying to stop the lads bickering.
Man On The Run 4 - A big day as Big Dave Hill is spotted amongst the crowd before a 2nd Division match against Manchester United.
United are big, but Big Dave has always been bigger.
There's some semi naked stuff in the dressing room although there is a distinct lack of tattoos. Remember that this was 1975 and nobody in the Saints side was a pirate.
Man On The Run 3 - In the latest instalment, our hero butchers a cow and shouts at a horse. Remember, this is 1975.
*Note the other bloke's bandaged finger & Nicky Channon in an adorable duffel coat.
Man on The Run 2 - Not as exciting as the 'Miss Bournemouth 1975' clip unfortunately.
BOX 41 - HORSES FOR 2015
BOX 41 - HORSES FOR 2015 - Our longest running syndicate is all set to go with three juveniles for 2015. Two Lawman colts and a Lilbourne Lad filly are on the roster this year with high hopes that a Halicarnassus, a Cay Verde or an Orizaba might emerge. Here Mick talks our members through our prospects for the year.
As ever, all of our details are on the website: http://mickchannon.tv

LORD ILSLEY RACING - HORSES FOR 2015
It's that time of year again when the partners in Lord Ilsley Racing get to select their horses for the coming season. 2015 features a Baltic King colt and a Bushranger filly. The video shows them on the gallops at West Ilsley and Mick's assessment ahead of what is hopefully an exciting year.
It's early days of course but feel free to have a look at the video and if you're interested, please get in touch with us via email: [email protected]
LORD ILSLEY RACING - NEEDLESS SHOUTING - 2015 PREVIEW VIDEO
Last year's hero Needless Shouting is back from his break after a successful 2014 flat campaign and now looks set to begin a dual purpose season in 2015. He's schooled very well over at Hen's and is back in full work. Here Mick discusses the plans for the coming season.

Friendship
Mick Remembers Bally - May 2008.
Mick talks to his friend and journalist Brian Cooney about his friendship with Alan Ball. He meant so much to so many people and his presence is sorely missed around West Ilsley. Alan's sense of fun and a hard earnt perspective on what really matters in life shouldn't be forgotten.
Mick's Ice Bucket Challenge.
He'd been goaded for days and despite contributing to charity to get out of it, we wouldn't let up. Call it 'Dressing room banter' but he finally gave in.
We forgave him the 'Ice" bit because he's a pensioner now but it was still cold enough.
Hardly done in good grace but Kevin Keegan, Norman Hunter & Jack Channon won't be too happy about it either.
Thanks to Mick Quinn & the Two Year Old Handicapper Matthew Tester for making our day.
