Hello to all my followers and clients I am happy to say I can start treating your pets via home visits from today so if you need an appointment please contact me. This means I can come into your house and treat your pet at a two metre distance and wearing ppe.

I will be following strict hygiene measures before and after treating your pet to follow the covid guidelines and may ask you to open a window or door for extra ventilation.

I will work on veterinary referral which I can organise with your vet practice.

I look forward to assisting with your pets recovery and rehabilitation journey.

Little changes can make a big difference when it comes to managing arthritis... and no more so than this little change - avoiding repetitive and high impact activities like ball chasing!! 😬

I know it might make us sound boring, but honestly this type of activity can be harmful in a lot of ways and there of lot's of things you can do instead! 👍

What are your dogs favourite low impact and joint safe activities? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s all getting Christmassy in my household now it’s officially December so don’t forget our furry friends need to be spoilt at Christmas too and some much needed care and attention.

I am still taking physiotherapy cases but mainly from my place of work were we have Covid 19 safety precautions in place. I can do home visits if they are outside and I can maintain social distancing measures and wearing a face covering and hand sanitising between patients .

Pm me for details or any guidance or support you need

Whilst our dogs are enjoying a cosy night in on these cold nights remember to make sure your older pets have padded bedding away from draft. They may become more stiff due to the cold weather. Physiotherapy can really help keep them comfortable PM ME FOR DETAILS

Below is a few pictures of one of my patients at the moment the lovely Ellie. She is being treated for arthritis and weakness in her hips and forelimbs and has improved a lot since staring Physiotherapy. She is bright alert and trotting around and playing with toys. She is a pleasure to treat and it’s lovely seeing her so happy after being very stiff and sore at the start of her treatment. We are performing Physiotherapy treatment on her to keep her supple and mobile and improve her quality of life and make her comfortable. She is a lovely girl and always happy to see me greeting me with her favourite toy at each session ! 😍👍

I am currently working on this lovely gorgeous boy rocky!! Seen in the picture below he is making great progress after only three sessions and he is a pleasure to work with. Rocky went to the vet originally with lameness of the right hind.

After further investigations it was found that he had a condition called lumbar sacral disease which was secondary to sacralisation of the l7 vertebrae. This condition also caused deviation of the l6 and l7 spinal nerve. (L is lumbar vertebrae) sacralisation is extra bone growth to compensate for the spinal condition. As you can imagine this causes rocky pain and altered gate and confirmation to adjust.

His owners love him dearly so wanted me to help him!!

I am happy to announce I am taking on small animal physiotherapy clients again after referral from the animals vet!! 🐕‍🦺🦮🐈

I am happy to do home visits in Northampton, Market Harborough and Leicestershire. I will carry out treatment in the clients gardens, where I will be wearing a mask and gloves and maintaining strict hygiene practices and social distancing whilst dealing with your pets.

I am also happy to carry out treatment at my own house in my garden which is secure if you would prefer.

If you need my help please contact me and I will discuss what I do and book your pet in accordingly.

I can only work on your pet after referral from a veterinary surgeon. The vet will need to fill out and email me a referral form, I will provide and relevant history.

Here is my dog and my friends dog having a good swim today whilst out on a walk which dogs love. Some dogs need teaching to swim or guidance so make sure you start off in a controlled environment as you can cause more harm then good. Hydrotherapy is great for fitness and strengthening alongside physiotherapy 👍🐶

17/05/2020

Swimming is great fitness for your dogs as they use all there muscles and joints as one whilst being weightless. Hydrotherapy and physiotherapy go hand in hand as your dogs need to get fit and strong in and out of water for full recovery and the best rehabilitation plan.

Due to the guidelines laid out by the government

- I will still only being seeing emergency Physiotherapy cases.
- No routine cases at present, but I am happy to do video consults for routine cases, to go through and demonstrate rehabilitation plans discussed and emailed to you.
- This then means they still get the care they need after referral from a vet. I can also demonstrate with my own animals via video consults to help.
- For video consults, a charge will still be in place but at a reduced cost due to the situation and limitations for routine cases only.
-For emergency cases I need referral from the vet with , relevant history and written confirmation that the physiotherapy must take place.
-I would also advise the clients using insurance to cover physiotherapy treatment to check with their insurance company that they will cover the treatment due to the current situation.
- I am happy to see emergency cases after prior arrangement and discussion with the vet in charge of the case and the owner, following the current guidelines and adhering to social distancing rules.
-I will arrange an appointment time and duration prior to the appointment and ask you to call or text me when you are outside my house , then whilst maintaining a 2 metre distance I will take your animal from you using PPE and performing regular hand washing during the animals treatment.
-Once the treatment has finished I will arrange collection wearing PPE and maintaining social distance, whilst handing the animal back to you.
-I will disinfect carrier handles when they can be used and leads if necessary.
-I will carry out treatment away from the owner and only one person to drop off and collect their animal.
-I will not be travelling to clients houses due to the risk of transmission to me and my clients. If you are showing signs of the virus I need to know in plenty of time before the appointment and you will need to self isolate for the recommended period before I can see your animal.

Stay safe and well and please don’t hesitate to contact me for help and guidance even if I can’t see your animal during the current situation !

This is my current emergency physiotherapy case. His name is dominic and he slipped discs in his neck and now can’t walk so I am performing physiotherapy treatment to get him back on his feet again. This is our 2nd treatment day and he has already settled in and is brighter and not as depressed and making small improvements. I am following the covid guidelines and working from home using ppe.

He is loving this weather and enjoying the company of my dogs who are making him welcome 👍🤞🐶

Whilst cuddling your pet during isolation, why not massage them and do some skin rolling this will build a bond and also loosen up your pet. It will also improve circulation and tissue health. Message me for details of how to perform these simple techniques.

Ball play is ok as long as your pet doesn’t run and stop suddenly or jump and twist landing awkwardly. So ball play can be done safely and protect your dogs joints by kicking it along the floor for them to retrieve please be careful with your pets and protect there joints!!

25/04/2020

Dolly can now perform active exercises too with the temptation of cheese of course 👍. She is a great patient to work with and so rewarding.
If you need my help for other problems needing physiotherapy please don’t hesitate to contact me !! Thank you for all your support so far I love my job and am very passionate about how physiotherapy can help various conditions!!
