Nutrabio! What does it do and why is it handy to have over Christmas?

Our little lovelies can get an upset stomach over the christmas period, either by having too many tasty treats and new foods or because of the stress that can sometimes come along with Christmas. Nutrabio can help these upset stomachs settle and can sometimes prevent an out of hours trip.

It is a probiotic and helps in the following ways:
- Firms stool consistency
- Helps aid digestive function
- Increases friendly bacteria
- Replenishes natural balance of gut bacteria
- Highly palatable natural formula
- Reduces flatulence
- Is fast acting

Nutrabio is a vet select product but is non-prescription. This means you don't need to see a vet for us to dispense it but it is only sold in veterinary practices. If you would like to pick up a packet before the holiday season, please just pop in to reception or drop us an email🎄

Christmas is sneaking round super fast this year!! With only 3 weeks left to go this is a little reminder to get any urgent prescription orders in with plenty of time, along with any non-urgent appointments that might be needed within the next couple of weeks.

The festive period can be a very busy and sometimes medications take longer to be delivered to us💙

We've sadly had a large amount of no shows recently, if you can't make an appointment you have booked please let reception know as soon as possible (this can be via email if you can't call)💙

We are very busy at the moment, no shows take away from pets that really need those appointment. We always have an ever growing cancellation list of pets needing an appointment so cancellations are never wasted but no shows prevent us from using those appointments💙

Let's talk fleas, ticks and worms in the colder weather❄️

We still recommend regular flea, tick and worming treatments even through the colder months. Especially worming treatments.

Pets can get lungworm by coming in to contact with infected lungworm larvae. These can be found in the slimy coating of slugs and snails; and we all know how many of those live in our gardens!

These larvae can survive for a short time off slugs and snails, which means it can also be found on toys and in water bowls where contamination is less obvious🪱

It's also important to note that ticks thrive when we start heating up our houses, which is why we recommend year round treatment🦟

As the weather is turning colder, it's important to note Acorns and Conkers can be poisonous to your dog. Be sure to keep an eye out on walks to make sure that your dog doesn’t pick anything they shouldn’t up.

If ingested they can also cause intestinal blockages.

Signs to watch out for would be:
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Restlessness with discomfort and abdominal pain
- Lethargy
- Collapse
- Wobbliness and tremors

Don't hesitate to speak to one of our vets if you think your dog may have eaten something they're not supposed to🍂
