we are looking for a full time groom, to work and help run our busy yard.
An opportunity to work at one of the top heavy horse producers in the uk.
Multiple world champions at the world Clydesdale show 2022 and previous HOYS champion ridden producers, along with championships at national level inhand, driving and ridden.

Breeding is also a large part of our daily routine, with stallions standing at stud, and a large number of mares for breeding and foaling.

We also break to ride and drive, and teach all aspects of the heavy horse.

The job is to help with feeding, mucking and general welfare of the horses.

Based in beautiful Perthshire the position can be live in or out, may suit an overseas person looking for experience or time in Scotland.

Must be enthusiastic, reliable, good time keeper, able to work on your own or as part of a team, with attention to detail, willingness to learn all there is to know about these wonderful heavy horses.

Some experience preferred but not essential as training will be given.

HOYS Welcome Driven Heavy Horse Championship!

This year the show will welcome a Championship for Driven Heavy Horses in the Andrews Bowen International Arena, as we aim to support the work of the societies in promoting the breeds to a wider audience.

Groom position
An opportunity to work at one of the top heavy horse producers in the country HOYS winners along with lots of major championships winners all over the UK. Based in beautiful Perthshire. This position is for a live in groom. Living in a two bedroom log cabin.This post may suit a couple look for something new.

Bandirran stud are looking for an enthusiastic,reliable groom to fill this unique position with an opportunity to work and learn all there is to know about these wonderful heavy horses.

Some horse experience and ability to turn out to a high standard preferred but not essential, as training will be given,along with usual yard duties the right person will have the opportunity to ride,drive,break and work with stallions,mares,foals and young stock.
Must be able to work on your own and part of a team be a good time keeper with attention to detail. With the world Clydesdale Show coming to Scotland in October this position might interest someone who has experience working with heavy horses and is looking to work overseas for a year or longer.

2021 is over, we didn’t have many shows but did have some high points!
Starting with willow way swiper arriving in time to serve some mares, so exited to see the foals this year!

Ellie took her pony to her first show and came home with a first and fourth!

We had the highland show where we were gelding champion, reserve male champion and reserve female champion and also reserve cawdor cup.

Had a new four out and took champion at Driffield show with thistle out the lead for the first time she went on to Cheshire where she won the ridden and qualified for HOYS!
This mare did us proud and went on to win the heavy horse ridden class at HOYS in style!!

We ran our first perth foal show and had a great day with over a 100 entires
Thank you to everyone that helped make it so good, hope to see you all there next year!!

We also got the eight hitched in preparation for the world show.

The last show was the west of Scotland foal show where we took three and had three firsts and senior champion.

So now for 2022 this looks to be a big year with the world show and hopefully a full show season!

That’s an end to a very strange 2020 show season, but we were very fortunate to have 3 shows at the end of the year under the circumstances.
We were lucky enough to have produced and shown the supreme champion at all 3 shows, here’s some pictures from today’s show looking forward to 2021!
