Ah - you all thought you’d heard the last of me!

For those of you who are still looking for my replacement. Someone I know from my own walks, it turns out has recently started his own dog walking business! So knowing him from my walks I’d be quite happy to recommend him & also I am aware that a couple of other hounds from my team have found their way to him so there will be some familiar faces!

Well..... I don’t quite know what to say. It’s all finished! The last day. The last walk. A surprisingly emotional day if I am honest. A massive thank you to everyone for all the gifts and cards I have been given - just wow. What a pile! A big thank you as well for the home baking and cooking and all the tips on my last week out.... suffice to say the baking did not last long enough to make it to this photo 🤣.

It’s been an incredible last few years and whilst I have run out of steam a bit, and am ready for a change there is no doubt in my mind that this will always be the single best and most enjoyable job I will ever have! Dogs and walking - two of my favourite things! I’ll miss all the dogs of course but also the humans as well! Your a fab bunch and it’s been a pleasure to work for you all.

I’m absolutely knackered tonight so me and Fletcher are going to put some photos up from today and have a wee lie down!

* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT *

Hello everybody,

I am today announcing my intention to hang up my dog walking boots permanently from Tuesday 14th March. It has been an issue that has been bubbling away in my mind seriously since late last year. There are a number of reasons that have contributed to why I think now is the right time for me to move on to a new challenge. It has always been part of the plan to get to roughly this stage in the degree I am studying before moving on to try and make use of the skills I have been developing. Further, as some of you know, I have had a terrible time this last year with issues with my back and it has proven an increasing struggle to successfully manage this in such a physical full time job.

Whilst I am excited for the future, I am genuinely terribly sad at moving on from what has been the most enjoyable job over the years. I started way back in 2015 on a part-time basis, before moving to work for Terri at Walkies full-time, and then on my own with Canine Capers. You guys have been the most wonderful bunch of people I have had the privilege of working for and as for the dogs – I am going to miss them so very much. It is impossible not to get attached to them. I have spent a lot of time with my furry buddies over the years and I’ve loved it. They have all become a big part of my life and I will cherish all the memoires – from the lovely to the absolute bonkers! Poor Fletcher is not going to cope well without all his friends!

Canine Capers will be in operation for the last time on Tuesday 14th March and I will then move on to work for Perth and Kinross Council.

I am so genuinely sorry for any problems this is going to cause you all. I have tried to negotiate what I hope is a reasonable notice time, and hopefully it’s enough for you to get a replacement.

Those of you who have homeboarding bookings, for past the date I am leaving, I will be in touch with you on an individual basis as I am trying my very best not to have to totally cancel everything in that regard - you will hear from me in the coming couple of days.

Lastly and quite simply – a MASSIVE Thank you to all of you for being part of the Canine Capers adventure.
