Fireworks killed our mum, Josephine Smith. Her home was attacked using fireworks. We believe the use of fireworks after sale to the public cannot be policed. We think all displays should be licensed and sales limited to licence holders only.

Poor blue just had surgery today the happy dog you see is him waiting and playing with his toy. Now I have a very sleepy sore boy who has had a mass removed from his gland, two weeks of bed rest and cuddles as he recovers and the cone of shame 😭 but at least I get him for 4 more years ❤️ he may be an old boy but he's a fighter!

Finished the course last night was a great way to gain more knowledge and an introduction into canine behaviour.
I hope to grow on this knowledge and improve my own skill set. 😊🐾

Even though I'm currently on a little break from dog walking due to my back injury, I'm still hard at work (with a little help from my furry study buddies 🐾)! While I recover, I'm taking a canine behavior course to add even more skills and knowledge to help your pups when I'm back on my feet again. 💪

My own dogs seem to think that studying is a great excuse for some serious snuggle time 💤... maybe they’re testing out their own behavioral theories? 😄

I can't wait to get back out there, and in the meantime, I’m working on bringing even better services for your four-legged friends. Stay tuned!"

Balls and dogs… 🥎

Recently at a wedding someone was asking me for some advice for their dog after his recent surgery. He had fractured a bone in his forelimb and they said “it happened chasing a ball, if we had known it wasn’t a good thing to do we wouldn’t have done it”.

We hear this so often; everyone we see loves their dog and wants the best for them, but ball throwing and dogs have become synonymous in people’s minds and there is a strong culture for it - it looks so fun, it tires them out quickly and we think it is keeping them fit.

But what is actually happening?

Repeatedly stimulating their prey drive keeps them wired and overstimulated.
Motivated to carry on chasing, they work way past muscle fatigue, and high adrenaline means they won’t be aware of pain at the time.

What is chasing?

Fast uncontrolled acceleration and deceleration; twisting and turning without thinking about their bodies.

What happens to humans who do this in sport in a much more controlled way?

ACL injuries, Achilles ruptures, fractures… no surprise then that this is similar to what we see in our canine clinic.

My dogs are helping me through this recovery, and I truly couldn’t do it without them. Blue, always eager to cheer me up with his toys, and Bonnie, the perfect cuddle companion, have brought me so much joy and comfort as I heal. 🐾

Even on the toughest days, they remind me that love and patience can go a long way. I honestly think I'd go a bit insane without their constant support. Dogs truly are the best creatures—we really don't deserve them!

To my amazing clients, thank you for your continued patience. I'm doing my best to get back to full health and can't wait to be back out walking with all of your furry friends soon. Until then, let's give some extra love to our loyal companions—they deserve it! 💕🐶"

I wanted to let you all know that I am currently in the hospital and, unfortunately, won't be working this week. To my clients, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I hope to be back on my feet soon and will keep you updated on my recovery.

Since we have had such lovely weather today it definitely called for a beach walk and it did not disappoint! All the dogs had an absolute blast this afternoon and it was so lovely capturing such fun loving dogs 😄

Frank was full of beans today and I know that he did burn all that energy keeping up with the big dogs today as his owners have told me he has been crashed out since coming home so clearly some one had a great time 😁
