No need to go far to find something interesting. This is Robin’s pincushion, a gall produced on dog roses by one of the 9,000 different types of wasps we have in the UK. Not the Yellowjacket type that annoys most of us!

The progress continues! I have availability all day Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday afternoon for private walks next week and the week after.

I'm planning some free taster sessions of slow and steady walks at Arrow Valley park, these are specifically for those who have limited mobility so I'm waiting for warmer weather. Watch this space! Please note that one carer can attend for free on any of my group paid walks when these recommence :-)

I have updated my website with a teeny bit more availability. I'm proud of myself for still following the physio's advice to gradually build up my exercise - especially as I would love to be out walking every day for hours! Check it out and let me know what you think.

Woohoo! I have been signed off from the physio on my Achille's tendon and have been, majoritively, pain free for two months. This means that I have resumed limited walks, I now have one one hour or two half hour slots available. If  you would like to chat about planning your own walk or would like ...

Technology has baffled me so I haven’t edited this down to the very brief appearance of the Robin. See my other post for a screenshot. Robins are often tame but this one was cheeky 😊

Loving seeing the first signs of spring but not enjoying the first insect bite! Look closely at the third photo to see the dark red hazel flower, they’re only about 1mm big.

At long last I can share some good news - walks are resuming next week. I am fully booked for the first couple of weeks as I'm starting slow and steady. Check out my updated website and let me know what you think! via

Woohoo! I have been signed off from the physio on my Achille's tendon and have been, majoritively, pain free for a month. Merry Christmas! Thank you to everyone who has supported me. Finally my ankle is on the mend so I plan to start gentle public walks around Arrow Valley Visitor Centre and Lake in January. Costs will be low and please remember that they contribute to my business insurance and first aid equipment costs. I’m first aid trained and offer tailored support to enable you to enjoy the outdoors. Your good health 🍸🎄😊

I had the pleasure of looking after this lovely lady for the evening yesterday. As you can see we had a very chilled evening, which didn’t stress my Achilles’ tendon.

A reminder that I hope to be starting walks around Arrow Valley lake shortly after Christmas. I have a physio appointment on 16th 🤞Watch this space!

I'm taking an enforced break from walking for a while but, to quote the Terminator, "I'll be back!"

Unfortunately I have had to make the decision to suspend all walks, probably until the new year, as I seem to be back at square one with my Achilles' problem. I will be asking for a referral for more investigation at my next physio session as I have followed all the care advice I was given. In the m...

Group walks are suspended until further notice as I am having physio for an Achilles’ tendon problem. I am allowed to do short walks so I am still available for private bookings 😊

What an interesting walk with Skye this morning! Firstly we watched a nuthatch feeding by Papermill Farm, next up was spying a young bullock by Five Tunnels, then a woodpecker started its raucous laughing call close to us, close to the footbridge over Papermill Drive we saw a buzzard being mobbed by crows and I lost count of all of the human and doggy friends we met!!!

Please note that there will be no walks during the heatwave as my Risk Assessment is that exercise in this heat could be dangerous to myself, humans and dogs - well I am ginger lol

The video is for the sound only! I have googled otter sounds, couple that with the spraint close by, and I believe we have an otter family somewhere near Papermill/Five Tunnels 😊🦦

I’m still on the lookout for the animal marking it’s territory near Five Tunnels. Fresh, shiny, markings today.

The weather is set fair for the week so why not make the most of it with a walk? This week will be getting warmer so morning walks will be more comfortable and less stressful health-wise.

First walk of the year in vest top, shorts and sandals 🌞 We are so lucky to have a park that people of all ages can enjoy. I saw dog walkers, joggers, cyclists, fishermen, photographers, sailors, model boat enthusiasts, families enjoying the playground and one family flying model gliders yet it wasn’t too crowded 😊

My recovery from Covid is now at a stage, two weeks after testing negative, where I am confident I am not contagious and I have some energy for short walks. I am, therefore, taking bookings for private walks. Watch out for group walks in the near future 😊
