Well, 2023, quite frankly you have been a sod to myself and my family. You have thrown just about everything you’ve had at us….

But we are stronger than you will ever know, probably made stronger by your own mean and cruel antics.

On that note, and after the last week being quite poorly, i’m done for this year! Thank you to my small group of customers who have been amazing and supportive throughout the past few weeks, every little word of kidness and support has got me through and I’m so grateful for you all ❤️🥰😘

2024 will be a much better year but that bit lonelier without 2 of the best men a girl could have 😢 Things in my own life are shifting and it’s going to take some adjusting to but I do believe each experience is given to us to make us stronger in the long run.

The photo below was taken around 11 years ago on christmas day when, as a family we came together to look after other peoples horses on the yard I ran, just so we could be together on that day. Sadly my amazing dad, my beautiful boy Ozzy and my own sisters gorgeous dog Reuben have all gone this year. They are definitely still here in spirit!

Please, spend time with each other this christmas and make some fantastic memories. You never know when they will become just memories…

I know i’ve been a little quiet on the work front lately.

As you all now know, my dad passed away a week last monday and I’ve been struggling emotionally and physically. The loss of Ozzy nearly 4 weeks ago was horrendous and knowing my dad would soon be following him was incredibly hard to handle. I feel like i’ve been in a tornado of emotions and feelings with no way to stop it all.

So, i decided to find another outlet for the feelings and emotions and that’s by writing a blog. I have found talking to people has really helped and i hope i can pass that on and help others by creating a space where they can read my experiences and maybe not feel so alone in what they’re going through.

Still in it’s very early days and some of the posts may ramble on a little but it’s helping.

Today I was able to give my dad a present before we say our final goodbyes on Monday.

After making the decision nearly 4 weeks ago to say goodbye to our beloved horse Ozzy, my dad asked for some of his tale hair to keep. Not knowing just how soon after Ozzy we would lose my dad I kept a little bit to one side for when he was ready…. He wasn’t ready until today.

Yet another heart wrenching reminder that two of the most important people in my life have gone, but are at peace and pain free at last.

It hurts so much how much I Love and miss them both ❤️💔❤️

Tonight i did something i’ve never done before. A first! I lit a candle for a loved one.

This afternoon I had a very special delivery. Ozzy’s ashes! He’s back by my side and after deciding where best to place him i thought a fitting thing to do would be to light a candle. It marks one week to his passing and placing his best pictures in front along with the flowers makes everything seem that bit more personal.

Thank you to each and every one of you who sent a message of condolence and support. It’s helped me through the past week and the special messages with memories of how he’s touched (or bitten) other people makes me love him even more. He truly has been one of a kind.

I’ve realised, it’s ok to grieve… in fact, it’s good to grieve! To let out all the hurt and lonliness that comes with grief. To just take some time, be it a few minutes, half an hour or hours on end to cry, to talk it through, talk through the memories and explain the feelings that you’re going through… i’m not hiding my grief… by letting go it makes room for all those happy memories to come flooding back ❤️

A bit of a surreal day today… 3 lots of doggies walked and a horse fetched in… lots of time to reflect with lots of fantastic company. I will always be grateful for the time i get to spend with your lovely fur babies ❤️

Does anyone happen to have a heart rhythm monitor that could be used as a one off on a horse? Something that doesnt just do heart rate but shows the hearts actual rhythm, like an ECG reading??
