Do you want to practice your dog training around other dogs safely?
Are other dogs a distraction or a trigger to your dog?
Do you want to teach your dog how to make good decisions socially with other dogs?
Plenty of owners are facing the same issue!
They need to practice their training around the distractions of people and dogs - an integral piece of any dogs training journey!
BUT...
The social doggy meet ups are typically not the right place for this. Neither is going to the park as we are often gambling whether or not you should trust the other owners to be responsible and listen to you if you express a need!
So we are now offering a variety of Pack Walks to cater to these needs! This is where multiple dog owners will meet up to go on walks, practice training exercises that we can all benefit from, with the goal of creating dogs that make good decisions socially.
Initially we will be starting with just one type of Pack Walk...
Neutral Pack Walks!
Suitable AND highly recommended for all breeds, sizes and ages!
Socialisation is very misunderstood by a lot of people. It doesn't actually mean letting your dog play with loads of different dogs at the park or play parties. Those options don't actually help you create a well-balanced dog at all.
Your dog doesn't need to be directly interacting with something, for it to be socialisation! The direct interaction is actually a very small part of this! About 20-30%! The other 70-80% is teaching your dog to be neutral to a range of stimuli, including other dogs!
This is why Neutral Walks will be a pre-requisite to being able to join our other Pack Walks, where we will be allowing more interactions and more freedom off lead.
Join the WhatsApp Group so we can arrange dates that suit everyone!
The Walk will be approximately an hour, possibly longer, with a quick de-brief afterwards. If any of you would like to sit down and get some food at the local pub afterwards, do let me know as we have this option too!
I'd like to use the group chat to discuss the options and what people's preferences are.
You're also welcome to direct message me with any questions you might have as well.

Good morning everyone. Milo is ready for his adoption trial. He is two years old . Anybody that would like to apply for this boy, firstly, please be serious about it, and message me.
*Looking for a good home within a 25 mile radius.
*His castration and rhinoplasty isnβt till next Friday, so please bear this in mind..
His assessment period has finished. He is very friendly, learns quickly, very devoted , very loving . Very chilled out little boy, although bit of an escape artist, π so everything has to be secure, garden, check et cetera.

Great pleasure to have worked with Every K9 Active LTD , so every other day some Ads π
Meet Whiskey & Copper π€ they will be staying with us for their trial overnight today!
I expect we will be seeing a lot more of these two. Been a pleasure so far π
Not to say there aren't Certified Trainers doing great work, just make sure you're Vetting your trainer properly because a bad trainer can ruin a good dog and that's a lot harder to come back from.
Lovely to see you again Baker! π₯°
Meet Percy π He is a Cairn Terrier that has come to us for some training.
Some tuggy and flirt pole at daycare.
Meet Leo! He's come to stay with us for Home Boarding this week! He's done very well meeting some new dogs, a bit shy but lovely character π
It's been Labmania lately!
Meet the Polish Hunting Dog, our newest recognised breed as of 1 April 2024. We now recognise 223 breeds of pedigree dog! To find out more about these historic hounds, follow bit.ly/3PO3Qfz.
Dash and Taco enjoyed their 3hr walk the other day - we got lost but enjoyed the adventure!

Wilbur & Monty walking beautifully by our side π β This is what we aim for our walks to look like with every dog - good engagement, loose lead to our side and good impulse control and recall. 15 mins into a walk, simple changing direction and rewarding him when he follows instead of continuing (of course in this you don't see me giving treats as I wanted to record). 15 minutes into the walk and this was possible from just one simple hack of switching up directions!
Check it out: I can now change my pace from brisk to a snails pace with Wilbur still keeping an eye on his Heel Position, the added benefit of conditioned marker words helping him have CLARITY in what he is doing. "GOOD" for good job keep going/duration, and "UH UH" for wrong, but try again.
Look at that, our marker word "GOOD" is now classically conditioned to mean a reward, watch him luck his lips when I say "GOOD" before I even get a teach out my pouch.
Check out that Off Button girls! "FINISHED" being our marker word for ending play. If your dog needs an OFF BUTTON for play and other scenarios, get in contact with us! We can help!
Our next step in training is to focus on DURATION in position now. So we will stop rewarding going into position, and ONLY be rewarding staying in position for 10 secs/20 secs/30 secs/ 1 minute and so on. If anyone has any questions I welcome them in the comments below or message me :)
Learning the position "heel", going from luring and saying heel when she hits position, to saying "heel" and rewarding when she hits position, redirecting when she doesn't get it right.
