Wishing everyone a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
2020 has not been a kind year and ive missed you all and my fluffy friends.
I'm thankful that I have a handful of truly special people that keep me going. I'm thinking about my friends that have lost loved ones this year as well as what seems like a huge amount of dogs that have passed away, including my own best friend Mindi. I miss her desperately.
It's probably not a 'normal' Christmas day for most of us but I sincerely hope that you're all ok and make the most of the the weirdest Christmas ever. It's that weird, it's snowing!
MERRY CHRISTMAS x

Update because I've not done one for ages, mainly because there was nothing new to report.
However, I finally had an appointment at dermo last weekend. I've been given 3 lots of medication that can't be percribed by the GP. I'm also waiting an appointment with the biologics nurse so I can go on Humira that you inject yourself.
That's a step on the ladder for my HS but it's had a detrimental effect on my mental health so there's no short cut.
I've been trying to occupy myself with creative stuff. This is my latest project for Christmas gifts, hand painted horse shoes with personalised letter from Santa.
Hope your all well. Missing my fluffy friends.

I actually had a real life face to face doctors appointment yesterday.
Not my usual doctor but she was ok. She did what should have been done months ago and percribed me with a long course of antibiotics that A&E gave me a couple of weeks ago, plus a few other meds that help. She rang dermo to fast track my appointment (thank you Kate for the advice last week).
It's taking longer than expected but because of the nature of the illness, lockdown and the stress of losing Mindi....it's a difficult illness to treat.
I'll add some pictures in comments of just my right arm. I've got it in other places but it might help people to understand why I'm off.
If you're bored, Google stage 3 hidradenitis supprativa.

Just a quick update. Im still waiting for a hospital appointment but the dermatology department isn't open yet. I didn't want to write this post but I was advised it may help with my grieving process. Plus, I'd rather not go into it with every message because of the trauma it causes my mind.
Last week, my already fragile world was shattered to piece's.
Mindi took ill last Wednesday. I got her in the vets on Thursday and she died on Friday.
I'm heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief. She'd been like a spare limb and best friend for 8 years. I'm struggling so much with her death that I can't function and I feel ill, empty and completely lost without her. Everything is a reminder of her and it hurts so much.
She saw me through so much stuff that I can't picture a future without her. I miss her desperately.
I've had a terrible run of bad luck, my HS has been really bad but I'd try and cope. Losing Mindi has just completely floored me.
And, in a cruel twist, I couldn't even be with her because of covid rules and today I went to collect her harness and lead from the vet and they'd thrown her lead in the bin!
Rest in peace my beautiful, loyal best friend.

Just a quick update. I've got a sick note for the next 4 weeks. My doctor is trying to fast track my hospital appointment that was cancelled due to lockdown so I can get the appropriate meds for my arm.
I know a few people are hanging on for me but if you do need to get your pets done, do so and get back to me next time they need a trim.
I have a friend called Jess that works at pets at home on regent road if anyone is struggling. She's lovely and good with animals.
It's never easy taking time off when your self employed so I appreciate everyone's patience, especially with everything else going on.
Keep safe and see you soon.

22/05/2020

Sorry I've not posted for a whilst. I've not been very well. I have to be particularly careful during lockdown because I have an autoimmune illness and at the moment I've got a badly infected arm.
I know most of the dogs will be in need of a clip. I'll keep you all updated. I hope you are all keeping safe.

Morning everyone.
This year's Christmas charity collection is for Withington hedgehog care trust.
They recently collected a baby hedgehog I found wandering around my drive in broad daylight.
They need cat and dog food and puppy pads. If you'd like to donate, I can collect your contribution when I pick up your pet or you can drop stuff in my porch.
I've also posted their wish list.

Polite but firm notice, can people please treat their dogs for fleas as routine in this heat. Flea treatment is part of general care if you own a dog. It cost me money if you don't treat them and puts my reputation on the line.
I won't take dogs if I know they have fleas because I have to treat my car and my workshop and it really annoys me that I spend more money having to do that than the cost of an actual groom.
I'm absolutely OCD about fleas and I pay over Β£130 every 3 months or so to protect all my lot. It's just as important as feeding, grooming, walking etc etc.

Hi folks. Sorry I've not posted for ages, it's been a busy life lately.
Many of you know we lost our chihuahua, Stinky Dinky in January. Well, I was lucky enough and very honoured to be asked if I'd take on this little guy.
He's been here since Saturday but you'd think he'd been here all his life. I'm so proud of how he's settling in and super proud of how Mindi is with him.

I'm not sure what's happening with the weather but it's certainly not very summer like!
It's still quite humid so don't be put off at the thought of a summer cut, they're easier to dry when they go out in the rain.

Thank you for everyone's patience today. I've been really busy and I had to go to the farm after work but I think I've got back to everyone. If not, remind me.
The horses are going out this week so bookings will be the usual 3pm to 7pm. This is so I can put my time and attention into your dog whilst they're in my care and on the table.
I'll leave you with the handsome Mr Max in his new, fancy rain sheet.

I heard some really tragic news today about an amazing lady I met in my early years of grooming back in about 2002.
I used to pick little Ellie up every week for her bath and when I set up on my own in 2006, her mum was one of my biggest supporters.
She really was one of the most beautiful, generous and kind woman I'd ever met. I was so shocked and saddened to hear about her passing.
RIP Christine ❀

I'm blessed that I can work with animals. It's hard work sometimes but when you win the trust of a timid pet, it's worth its weight in gold.
Oh, and I also meet some amazing mums and dads along the way.
There aren't many appointments available next week so if you want one, you know what to do.
I'll leave you with a few of my lot and have a great weekend x

I always try to discourage owners from sending their dogs in for grooming with these leads.
Personally, I hate them and they are unreliable. I always check the brake before getting them out of the car but they can and do fail. I'm banning them this year.
Personal injuries are one thing but my top priority is the dogs safety.

Some of my new friends from this week.
Yoko, the most adorable puppy Shih Tzu. She had her 1st puppy groom and bath and sat through it like a star.
Paco, a stunning British Blue, one of my favourite breeds of cat.
Yogi, a young pomeranian who's mum wanted him to have a little teddy cut. He was a pocket size cutie.

Apologies for any inconvenience.
There's very few appointments left this week so book in before they go.
I hope you all enjoyed the lovely weather we've had. Day off today so we took Mindi out for the day. It was sad and very quite without Stinky Dinky but we had a nice day.
